The production, which is performed by a cast of nearly 100, provides a fresh perspective perspec-tive on the story of Joseph of Egypt-Performances Egypt-Performances will be held this Friday and Saturday and Nov. 17, and 18 at the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 N. 100 West, Pleasant Grove, at 7 p.m. The production is free of charge and all members mem-bers of the community are invited to attend. Gingerbread Festival Hundreds of gingerbread houses will be on display and for sale at the Show Barn at Thanksgiving Point today through Monday. The gingerbread houses were created by Utah's Boy Scouts and Utah PTA children. Proceeds will benefit the Utah PTA Art Fund and the Boy . Scouts of America Character Education Program. There will also be a Children's Cookie Corner, Gingerbread General Store, daily family entertainment and tasty treats. Hours are Thursday, Thurs-day, 1-9 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $10 for families fami-lies up to five. SCERA SCERAand American Legion to celebrate veterans The SCERA Center for the Arts and Orem American Legion Le-gion Post 72 will share in the spirit of gratitude that characterizes charac-terizes November by celebrating celebrat-ing veterans Saturday with a daylong slate of activities that begins with a flag ceremony and Veterans Memorial March from the entrance of the Orem City Cemetery to the Veteran's Memorial. "We are so appreciative of the genuine sacrifices and service of our veterans, that it seems only appropriate to plan an event around Veterans Day that offers a heartfelt thank you for all they have done for us," says Adam Robertson, SCERA President & CEO. The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the Utah National Guard Apache Helicopter flyover fly-over and landing and display of a Paladin self-propelled Howitzer from the First battalion bat-talion of the 145th Field Artillery. The Orem High Band and Choir will perform the National Na-tional Anthem and military theme songs; the American Legion Honor Guard will present pres-ent the 21-gun salute; Bugler Karl Furr will perform "Taps;" and the BYU Army ROTC will feature a cannon salute. More than 200 American flags will grace the lawn of the SCERA Center, as well as cannons, guns and combat vehicles. Inside, patriotic exhibits ex-hibits will be displayed in the lobby and may be seen from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Al Anderson from the American Legion is bringing in some intriguing war hero artifacts. Nationally-known Nationally-known artist Kazia Hancock will feature her patriotic art. She created an organization that finds famous local artists in the hometowns of soldiers who have died. These artists create a painting of the slain soldier to present to his family. A USO Spectacular Show, produced by SCERA, will begin at 11:30 a.m. in SCERA Showhouse II. Admission is free. Several musical acts and special performances are planned. SCERA's Managing Producer Mindy B. Young, is putting the show together. "Last year, when the military mili-tary did its rifle drill, you could hear a pin drop. It was very touching." Featured in this year's show will be the BYU Air Force drill team, Rick Robinson's dancers danc-ers and the music of Steve and Lisa James. SCERA will also present a live theater production of "The Red Badge of Courage," based on Stephen Crane's powerful Civil War novel, at 2 p.m. Admission Ad-mission for veterans is free, and the general public may attend for $10 adult, $8 child, senior and student. AMERICAN FORK ARTS COUNCIL Youth auditions planned American Fork Youth Theater invites youth third grade and up to audition for Honk, Jr. on Dec. 7.
