J WMmm I -h i-- . - Bullock, 90th Goodwin retires Jacobs, 80th Crowther, Hanks Crossley, Bowen Smalley, Baker The children of Iris Meacham Bullock are proud to announce the 90th Birthday of their mother and a celebration in her honor. Iris was born Jury 15, 1915 in Lago, Idaho the sixth of nine children chil-dren to John Edwards and Julia Maria Ma-ria Haynes Meacham. She attended grade school in Lago, high school and one year of advanced schooling in Thatcher, Idaho where she was active in music and sports. She was Miss Congeniality to Miss Idaho in 1932. She married LaMonte Bullock on May 22, 1940 in the Logan IDS Temple. LaMonte passed on November No-vember 19, 1992 after 52 years of marriage. They had eight boys. She is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she has been involved in all aspects of music and dance; Ward and Stake Dance director, organist, choir director, ward and stake music chairman where she is currently serving. She wrote and directed many road shows. She taught piano lessons for over 70 years. She is a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and has served as 1st Vice Captain, and is serving as Chaplain. Her children are Kay (Vae), of Carmichael, Calif; Dee (deceased); Doyle (deceased); Barry, of Kaysville; Cteve (deceased); Glade (Rexine), of Santa Clara; Kevin (Debbie), of Lehi; Jeff (Becky), of Oregon; a daughter-in-law, Linda (Clyde) Johnson, of Spring City. She has 20 grandchildren, 33 ' great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great great-great grandson. Her living siblings are Mildred Burke, of Bench; Edsel Prescott Rosalies, of Pocatello; Ear-lene Ear-lene Smith Sprague of Logandale, Nevada; sister-in-law Ora Hubbard Meacham of Soda Springs. Family and friends are invited to celebratethe occasion on Friday, July 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.ra at her home, 53 North Main, Alpine. No gifts please, if you must give, please make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Vera Coates Goodwin, who has worked in food services in the Alpine District for 29 years, has recently re-cently retired. Goodwin was also a recipient of the Alpine District PTA Golden Apple award. Goodwin has worked at Pleasant Grove High School, Pleasant Grove Junior High, Central Elementary, Grovecrest Elementary, Elementa-ry, Manila Elementary and Lindon Dement ary. The couple have chosen to marry on Thursday, July 21. A reception in their honor will be held that same evening from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the home of Robert and Cindy Stanley, 1185 East 900 North, Lehi. In case of inclement weather the ceremony and reception will be held at the East Stake Center, 1200 E. 900 N., Lehi. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to attend. Casual dress will be appropriate. 1 1 Calvin Ray Jacobs celebrated his 80th birthday on July 12 with a family fam-ily dinner. He was born July 12, 1925 in Lehi, Utah to John and Mary Ellen Jacobs. He married Rhonda Opal Dickerson on April 25, 1947 in American Fork. She passed away in August of 1998. Ray attended school in Lehi. He served in the United States Navy, and worked at Geneva Steel for 40 years as a crane operator. He has six children; Ronald of Pleasant Grove, Jack of Highland, Shirley (Mike) Carrier of American Fork, Clyde (Janice) of Highland, Judy (Bruce) Black of American Fork, and Linda (Gary) Jolley of Highland. He has 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. " - Ormond, 80th Hannah Ormond will be turning 80 on Jury 21st. Her family would like to celebrate with her on Saturday Satur-day Jury 16th.
