Three teens arrested following grass fire Three juvenile boys were arrested Sunday in connection with a grass fire on the west side of Utah Lake. The youths had allegedly been playing with illegal fireworks which is believed to be the cause of the fire. The Utah County Sheriff's Office received a call about the fire at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the area of the Knolls, which is approximately state Road 68 mile marker 19. The initial reporting party stayed in the area and directed the deputies to the fire as well as provided a description of the suspects. High winds and dry grass made it a very hazardous situation, situ-ation, officers said, but thanks Alpine Highland FAMILY FIGHT - Police responded to a possible family fight in progress. A man and a woman had been having a loud verbal argument in the driveway of their home, and had gone back inside when officers arrived. PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION VIOLA-TION A Highland resident reported a violation of a protective order to police. Charges against a man from Lehi have been submitted sub-mitted to the city prosecutor for review. CRIMINAL MISCHIEFTHEFT - The owner of an Alpine car wash reported that someone had broken the glass in a vending machine at the business and removed several items. VEHICLE BURGLARY - A Pleasant Grove resident reported that while her vehicle was parked at Highland Glen Park, the driver's side window of her vehicle was shattered with a large rock and her purse was stolen. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - An Alpine resident reported to police that someone gained entry to an outbuilding on her property by breaking the doors. It appeared the suspect then took an ATV being housed in the garage out for a joy ride and then later returned it. The ATV was not damaged in the incident. DRIVING ON SUSPENSION - A 35-year-old woman was arrested for driving on suspension after she was stopped for a traffic violation in Highland. American Fork DISORDERLY CONDUCT - A 33-year-old man was cited for disorderly dis-orderly conduct after he arrived on scene of a traffic accident and started to yell at the other drivers. Cost of fighting the blaze is estimated at $5,000. Those responding to the fire included Saratoga Springs Fire Department, Eagle Mountain Fire Department, Cedar Fort Fire Department, Lehi Fire Department De-partment and the Utah County Fire Department. Officials said the fire serves as a reminder to the public to always have adult supervision when lighting fireworks as well as never to light fireworks near dry grass or other flammable materials. Also to use only Utah State Fire Marshall approved fireworks. RETAIL THEFT - A 17 year old man was cited for retail theft after he attempted to take a box of condoms con-doms from a local business. INTOXICATION - A 22-year-old man was arrested for intoxication intoxica-tion after officers responded to a medical call of a man who had injured his hand by hitting a glass window. Officers found that the man was intoxicated. FORGERY - A 27-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman and a 41-year-old woman were arrested for forgery, possession of forged documents, possession of a controlled con-trolled substance and burglary. Officers responded to a report of a man and woman attempting to cash a stolen check at a local business. busi-ness. Officers found the check had been stolen in a burglary of a storage unit. Several other forged checks were located along with a baggie of methamphetamine. BURGLARY - A 46-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested for burglary, intoxication intoxica-tion and assault. The men were upset with the victim because he had spoken to a mutual friend of theirs. The suspects went to the residence where the victim was. They forced their way into the residence and then proceeded to physically assault the man. The suspects were found to be intoxicated. intoxi-cated. The man suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. JOY RIDING - A 16-year-old girl and a 16- year-old boy were cited for joy riding, illegal consumption of alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol and a curfew violation. Officers observed two suspicious vehicles at a local park. They found the juveniles had been drinking and the boy had taken his brother's car without permission and it was past their curfew. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - A 15-year-old boy was cited for criminal mischief after he drove a vehicle into a neighbor's garage and hit PLEASANT GROVE www.westerncommunitybank.com the wall, causing $100 damage. INTOXICATIONDOMESTIC ASSAULT - A 27-year-old man was cited for intoxication and domestic assault in the presence of a child after officers responded to a report of a family fight. INTOXICATION. ETC. - An 18-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence, criminal mischief, mis-chief, trespassing and resisting arrest. Oficers responded to a report of a man who was intoxicated intoxi-cated and breaking things at his residence. When officers arrived, the man fled on foot and attempted attempt-ed to get into the vehicle of a citizen citi-zen in the area. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect a few minutes later and he continued to resist arrest. INTOXICATION - A 50 year old man was arrested for intoxication intoxica-tion after an officer observed him walking down the street. The man was swaying back and forth and having difficulty walking on his own. Further investigation found the man was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. ASSAULT - A 29-year-old woman was cited for assault after she became upset with a man and grabbed him around the neck and started to choke him. DISORDERLY CONDUCT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - A 15-year-old boy and a 55-year-old man (father and son) were cited for disorderly conductdomestic violence after officers responded to a report that they were involved in a physical altercation. SICK - Officers were dispatched dis-patched to a local business when a 40-year-old man had difficulty breathing. Medical personnel responded and was assisting the man when three other men became sick and started to vomit, and one passed out. Three ambulances from American Fork and one from Pleasant Grove transported the men to the hospital. Four of the men were taken to American Fork Hospital and one went to Timpanogos Hospital. There is some type of substance involved that all five men took. Investigation is continuing to determine what type of substance sub-stance is involved. Cedar Hills THEFT Officers responded to a report of a theft from a construction construc-tion site where a DeWalt miter saw was taken. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief where a motor home had been entered and food, nail polish and other items were scattered around. Two pillows had been cut with knifes. Damage is estimated at $100. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief at the park where someone some-one had spray painted the inside of the bathrooms. THEFT Officers investigated a report of a theft of construction tools totaling $1,500. I Westerrf Community Bank 7 THEFT Someone entered a construction trailer and took a DeWalt radio battery charger. The value is valued at $180. VEHICLE BURGLARY - Someone stole a portable DVD player from a vehicle. The unit is valued at $170. WARRANTS - A 19-year-old man was arrested for two outstanding out-standing arrest warrants and theft after officers responded to a report of a suspicious male. CIVIL DISPUTE - Officers responded to a report of a civil dispute dis-pute over property. Eagle Mountain FIRE Several juveniles playing with fire along the Expressway ignited some bushes. The blaze quickly spread to dry weeds and brush, eventually burning nearly two acres. Both police and fire crews responded. The fire threatened threat-ened nearby residences, coming to within 30 yards of homes. Firefighters were able to put out the fire before it reached the homes. No structural damage was reported. The youths that started the fire have been referred to counseling. FIELD FIRE - Approximately one acre of grain in a wheat field west of Eagle Mountain Boulevard was burned on Friday. Lehi FIREWORKS - An officer was dispatched to a report of illegal fireworks. The fireworks were found to be legal. INFORMATION REPORT Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence. They met with the complainant com-plainant and it was determined it wasn't a burglary. The reporting party's wife didn't want to pursue charges and said the man had permission to be at the residence. The man does have four statewide warrants. FRAUD An individual sold a motorcycle that did not belong to him. The owner got the bike back. BURGLARY - Some jewelry, golf clubs, cameras and DVDs were reported stolen from a residence. resi-dence. Jones was captured later in Mapleton by the police for burglary bur-glary and assault. He was booked into the Utah County jail. BURGLARY - Someone broke into Ultimate Car Wash, 460 W. 1600 North. The burglary took place sometime last Thursday night. Cash and car wash coupons were stolen. The thieves also broke into the coin machine outside the -business and did about $3,500 1 damage to it. COCAINE ARREST - Corporal Bill Crook stopped a car Saturday , night at 1200 W. 800 North driven ; by 29-year-old Eric D. Wahlberg, of .' Salt Lake City, for a traffic violation. Wahlberg had a $5,000 warrant , our for his arrest and he was taken into custody. When Cpl. Crook turned on the overheads, there was a flurry of activity by the back seat passenger pas-senger 38-year-old Mark Gordon, , of Ames, Utah, which appeared to the officer as if something was being stuffed down the back seat. , The car was searched incident to arrest and an Altoid can with a gram of cocaine was found stuffed . down the back seat where Gordon had been sitting.
