As much as anyone, he should know that Kristen's world revolves around basketball largely from his doing. Robert played basketball at Orem High in the early 70s, and has been coaching for most of the past 20 years during his teaching career. When Timpanogos opened he started teaching there, and helped Mark Hardman with the boys' team before becoming th head coach of the girls' team two years ago, during Kristen's sophomore season. It was while his daughter was growing up and Robert was a coach at Orem High that Kristen got her first exposure to basketball. "Every time we'd go to the gym we'd just drag the kids, and she just became part of that," Robert said. "When she was old enough to walk she'd be out there chewing on the ball.
