The cave is known for it's stalactites sta-lactites and stalagmites sta-lagmites rock formations formed from water dripping in the limestone cave, according to a National Park Service brochure on the cave. The cave is usually open to tours from mid-May through September, but because the tours often sell-out, advance purchase of tickets is recommended by the Park Service. In addition to the cave hike, the National Park Service is holding a summer sum-mer program series at the Timpanogos Cave Visitor Center. These programs run from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and are free. Upcoming programs include: "Minerals! An Essential Part of Your Rock Diet" this Friday, "Nature's Music in the Canyon," a program on the sights and sounds of the canyon, Saturday, and "Let's Make Tracks," a wildlife sign identification program, Monday. NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE The Town of Vineyard is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. As a result of the proposed increase, the tax on a $150,000 residence will be $165.00, and the tax on a business having the same value as the average value of a residence in the taxing tax-ing entity will be $300.00. Without the proposed increase the tax on a $150,000 residence would be $89.84, and the tax on a business having the same values as the average value of a residence in the taxing entity would be $163.35. The 2003 proposed tax rate is 0.002000. Without the proposed increase the rate would be 0.001089. This would be an increase of 84, which is $75.16 per year ($6.26 per month) on a $150,000 residence or $136.65 per year on a business having the same value as the average value of a residence in the taxing tax-ing entity.
