I need to capture students' loyalty while they are here. I have only a short window of opportunity to do that unless they are staying for four years," said Martin. "Yet I am confident as more and more bachelor's degrees are added, the alumni association will grow." Working with this challenge now, Martin plans to cultivate roots with alumni-sponsored events. One major event he will coordinate is Homecoming, including in-cluding het alumni recognition banquet, class reunions and week-long campus activities. Other events in his charge include in-clude the Alumni Association Dave Adams Classic Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament and the silent auction at the UVSC Auto Expo. In addition to alumni-sponsored activities, Martin will assist as-sist other departments on major campus events such as the President' Presi-dent' Scholarship Ball and the UVSC annual fund-raising cam-. cam-. paign. The alumni director will also serve as co-advisor to the Student Alumni Ambassador club at UVSC and editor-in-chief ' of the alumni magazine, Sequel. Martin is returning to UVSC where he was previously employed em-ployed as business manager for the IMcKay Events Center. MosV recently, he was the marketing manager for Greenbacks, Inc.
