(Not pictured: Joseph Ybarra, Aaron Burns, Erika Jones) Vineyafil recognitions given Vineyard Elementary School has honored three individuals for the month of December: Melissa Clayson, "Faculty Member of the Month"; Stacey Scarbrough, "Staff Member of the Month"; and Sheryl Serrano, "Patron of the Month". This is Melissa Clayson's first year at Vineyard, and she says that she really enjoys "the . friendly faculty and the great students." Her educational philosophy phi-losophy includes the idea that "every child should be able to ' learn in an open environment where each answer and question are valued. Each child should also become a lifelong learner." "I really enjoy working with children," Miss Clayson said. "I love seeing them learn and understand un-derstand a concept. I have always al-ways surrounded myself in summer sum-mer jobs with children. She says that she enjoys "the wonderful faculty and students." She believes be-lieves that "all students should have a positive learning environment environ-ment that will help them feel successful." suc-cessful." Miss Scarbrough is originally from Denver, Colorado. She graduated from BYU and taught fifth grade last year in Lehi. She Toves to cook, play tennis, and collect picture books. Sheryl Serrano and her husband hus-band have three children who attend Vineyard. She says that what she enjoys most about Vineyard Vine-yard is "teachers, students, year-round, year-round, and the staff, of course." In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, stamping, canoeing, canoe-ing, and camping. "I love working with the kids at the school," Mrs. Serrano said. "They're all great."
