Each unit in the development develop-ment is to be privately owned and will include a small private yard, with the balance of the site to be owned in common. A public street will provide access from 400 North to 500 North, and the site will be fenced with slatted chain link. The single-story buildings will have an overall height of 20 feet and brick exteriors. Floor plans include four bedrooms, a living room, family room, two-car two-car garage, storage areas, and 2.5 baths. A 25 density bonus was sought. Amenities listed included in-cluded a picnic area in the northeast north-east corner of the site, an 81 increase in the number of required re-quired parking spaces, a 100 increase in the number of required re-quired covered parking spaces, and an 18.5 increase in the amount of landscaping. Developer and contractor James Smart said the intent of the project is to fulfill a need for "senior-type" housing where individuals in-dividuals can own their own home, but not be burdened with Canyon View homeroom volunteers for children by Melanie Harding ' The holiday season has sparked the spirit of giving and volunteerism at Canyon View Jr. High. A girls' P.E. homeroom decided to use their time and energy each Thursday to help young children. The ninth grade girls are playing Sub-for-Santa for a family with little children. JaNae Heinz requested a family with little children because they appreciate things so much. The , Petersons, Katie, April, and Emily; The Reynoldses, Whitney Whit-ney and Lindsay; and Angalee Snell, Karen Nelson, Natalie Randall, and Karalee Craven plotted what they could do for little children. Lauren Vest, along with Brittinee Adams, Elizabeth Brookes, Tami Hunter, Kristen Wilkins, Sarah Davis, and Jenny Page decided to make a jean quilt for the Women and children's Shelter. children spending the holiday season at Primary Children's Hospital will benefit from the efforts of Ashley Woot-ton, Woot-ton, Felicia Featherstone, Dawn Strauss, and Heather Kellems. They plan to make toys, games, and quilts. Canyon View students meet together every Thursday. According Ac-cording to Beth Lee, homeroom is to boost your self-esteem and learn mature thoughts and actions ac-tions as students study Covey's Seven Habits of Successful People. Students meet with the same teacher throughout the year to develop and build positive posi-tive relationships with teachers who are no't grading students. The girls will continue to learn about private victories, emdtional bank accounts, putting put-ting first things first, and win-win win-win situations as they help others. ' J yard care, snow removal, etc. The detached units give a sense of autonomy, he said, and the extra bedrooms provide a place for family to "come home" to visit Smart claimed "overwhelming "overwhelm-ing support" from the neighbors, who, he said, liked the single-story single-story design.
