Perkes, and grandson of Winston M. and Ramona M. Crawford and Lyman D. and Fern Perkes, has returned from the Belgium Brussels Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. He will report his mission on Sunday, May 31, at 11:45 a.m. at the Orem 6th Ward Chapel, 365 S. 900 East, Orem. An open house for those who wish to visit with Darren and family will be held that afternoon at 195 S. Palisade Dr., Orem. STEVEN C. NELSON Steven Nelson to serve in Washington, D.C. Elder Steven C. Nelson has been called to serve in the Washington, D.C. North Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will speak in sacrament meeting on Sunday, May 31, at 9 a.m. in the Orchard First Ward building, 600 N. 800 East, Orem. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on June 17. Steven is a graduate of Orem High School and attended Ricks College for one year. He is the son of Ronald H. and Joyce Nelson. The Student Council of Canyon View Junior High raised money by sponsoring concerts by BYU's Lamanite Generation and the Young Ambassadors. The goal was to raise money to beautify the interior of the school. This bronze falconthe school mascot-was sculpted by Nick Ryan, art instructor at Canyon View. Pulley, son of Lynn and Barbara Pulley, recently recent-ly returned from serving in the Edinburgh Scotland Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will report his mission on Sunday, May 31, at 1:35 p.m. in the Windsor 2nd Ward Chapel, 60 E. 1600 North, Orem. An open house will be held that afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pulley residence, 345 W. 1600 North, Orem. Ricks of Glen Ricks Photography in Orem was awarded Kodak's most prestigious pres-tigious award for Photographic Excellence at the recent annual convention. Ricks received top honors in the wedding category, and two of four prints all accepted for exhibit were awarded Print of Distinction. Distinc-tion. Once a year the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) holds their " l annual convention. The prints submitted are judged by national jurors on overall print quality and subject interest. Ricks and his family reside in Lindon. He is a native of Rexburg, Idaho and is a graduate of BYU. He has worked as a professional photographer in the Provo-Orem area for about 12 years. He is the youngest recipientstudio owner ever in the state of Utah to hold the national degree of Certified Professional Photographer. Ricks also has won many awards both locally an d nationally national-ly for his photographic excellence. GLEN L.
