His farewell will be held Sunday, Sun-day, Jan. 20, 1991 at 8:30 a.m. at the Orem 89th Ward Chapel, 1051 East 200 North. All friends and family are invited. An open house will be held that day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Christensen home, 60 N. 1200 E., Orem. Elder Christensen is a graduate of Orem High School and LDS Seminary. She will be speaking in a sacrament meeting in the Hillcrest 6th Ward Chapel, 1035 S. 800 E., on Sunday, January 20, at 9 a.m. Elizabeth is a graduate of Orem High School and LDS Seminary. Semi-nary. She is a junior at Brigham Young University studying music. Friends are invited to visit with her at her home, 1140 S. Palisade Dr., Sunday evening. Sister Egbert will enter the Missionary Training Center on January 23. Ed Hills to serve in Arcadia, Calif. Elder Ed West Hills has accepted ac-cepted a call to serve in the California Arcadia Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. He will speak Sunday, January 20, 1991 at 1 p.m. at the LDS chapel at 185 East 2000 South, Orem. An open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. later that evening at his home, 1761 South Main, Orem. Elder Hills is the son of Ed D. and Charlotte Hills. He is a graduate of Mountain View High School and LDS Seminary. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on January 23, 1991. Troy Diederich to serve in Mexico Mission Elder Troy Diederich, a son of Rudi and Kathy Diederich, has been called to the Mexico, Mexico City East Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His farewell is Sunday, Jan. 20, at 9 a.m. in the LDS chapel at 1260 S. 400 W., Orem. An open house will be held Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at 660 W. 580 S., Orem. Elder Diederich is a 1990 graduate of Mountain View High School and LDS Seminary. He has been working at Old World Mill Cabinet Co. for the past year. Jason Roberts to serve in Kentucky Mission Elder Jason Dean Roberts has been called to serve in the Kentucky-Louisville Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. His farewell will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Heights 4th Ward, 1200 South 400 West, Orem. There will be an open houso that same evening from 6-8 p.m. at 586 South 400 West, Orem. Jason is the son of Dean and Linda Roberts. He is the grandson of Clea Roberts, also of Orem. JAMES NATHAN HULLINGER mm TOM SELLECK STEVE GUTTENBERG little m Distributed by Buara Scouters honored at Squaw Peak awards banquet Nine Scouters were awarded the District Award of Merit at the Squaw Peak District Awards Banquet held Friday, Jan. 11. The awardees were selected on a carefully controlled basis to outstanding out-standing Scouters whose long and outstanding service not only model and exemplify exceptional character to the youth involved in the scouting program, but have further extended this same type of service to their community and church, accordingto the Utah National Na-tional Parks Council leaders. The award is one which is never sought by the recipient and which comes without solicitation to those chosen. Those selected to receive this award from the Squaw Peak District are: John Ball, Charles Cranney, Marjorie Howarth, Barbara Niel-son, Niel-son, Craig Palmer, Jean Skinner, Arlene Smith, Gary Smith, John York. Second Miler Awards were presented to 20 Scouters. These are selected registered Scouters who are recognized for their outstanding out-standing service to boyhood. In order to receive this award, individuals in-dividuals recommended and selected must have extended noteworthy service over a period of years in which the lives of boys have been affected in a positive manner. Those selected for this award from dozens of applications include: in-clude: Denae Adams, Don Adams, Dale Brown, Bruce Cowley, Karen Cowley, Nick Haws, Craig Larsen, Paul Lesser, Percilla Matthews, Jenny Lynn Mauer-man, Mauer-man, Bob Mower, Bruce Redd, Chris Stevenson, Mary Stevenson, Steven-son, Mike Thompson, Rich Tyson, Don Wallace, Joan Wallace, Nick Webb, Ben Woolsey. Guest speaker at the event was Wynn Hemmert, Hillcrest Stake President. Blazer Patrol Troop 189 conducted the flag ceremonies and also a special musical number. Other participants par-ticipants includes Rodney Boyn-ton, Boyn-ton, 2nd counselor in the Hillcrest Stake, Francis Nordmyer, Squaw Peak District, Scouting for Food co-chairman; and Richard V. Heaps, District Scout Committee Chairman. Ice cream was donated by Meadow Gold Dairy. Larry Marsing completes requirements for Masters Larry marsing, Orem, has completed requirements for a master of science degree in industrial in-dustrial education at Utah State University. Marsing is a son of Albert and Connie Marsing, Moab, and his wife is Lynnae Marsing. He attended Grand County High School and Utah Valley Community College, and received his bachelor of science degree in industrial education at Utah State in 1987. He was ont he National Na-tional Dean's List. Marsing has been a professor atUVCCfor 12 years. James Hullinger called to Auckland Mission Elder James Nathan Hullinger, Hul-linger, a son of Floyd and Glena Hullinger, has been called to serve in the New Zealand Auckland Auck-land Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His farewell will be held January 20 in the Sharon Park 2nd Ward, 200 North 200 East, Orem, at 1 p.m. Elder Hullinger will enter the Missionary Training Center on January 23.
