Zany comedy on at SUSC "We don't expect those in the audience au-dience to go away deeply moved or changed, but we do expect them to unwind un-wind and totally enjoy themselves," says Fred C. Adams, director of the zany comedy "Noises Off! " playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Southern Utah State College. "One of the greatest things about this show," the director continues, "is that we're working very, very hard to make it the disaster it has to be to please the audience." CANYON VIEWPOINT After many after-school section rehearsals and guest conductors, Canyon Ca-nyon View felt ready to blow the other bands off-key at the District Band Festival on April 29 and May 1. The hard work paid off. The two eighth grade bands went on April 29, first period receiving 4 superiors and 2 excellents and second period with 3 superiors and 3 excellents. The two judges were Dr. Jessop and Mr. Petersen, both with an experienced ex-perienced background. The ninth grade went on May 1 receiving 2 superiors and 4 excellents from the same judges. Mr. Long, the director, said, "I felt like both 8th and 9th grades played some excellent music and did an outstanding job and received some very good ratings. I thought that we played the music very well for the difficult type of music we played. We did a super job and I feel great about it!" Canyon View is proud of these students and is looking forward to next year's festivals.
