Free Seminar Using computer to invest Wednesday, May 13, Howard Ruff's Jefferson Institute will present a free seminar on using a computer to invest and handle finances. Jefferson Institute, in Springville, Utah, has been holding intensive, week-long residence courses, called "Boot Camps," for the past year, teaching investors and entrepreneurs en-trepreneurs the tools necessary to be successful. Dave Tippetts, Vice-president of Jefferson Institute, will demonstrate and discuss several ways a personal computer can be a valuable tool for not only investing money in stocks, mutual finds, etc., and in managing a portfolio, but for handling personal finances as well. "There are some very high-powered high-powered program available to investors, in-vestors, now," said Tippetts. "With the touch of a few keys, today's computerized com-puterized investor can test strategies, update quotes, do historical research, and even trade. In addition, there are packages out that will help you budget, manage your checkbook, and keep track of your taxes. What used to take hours or days and complicated work on a calculator now happens in seconds." Mr. Tippetts said anyone can learn to use a computer and apply these programs - it was only a short time ago that he began using the computer for anything more than word-processing. He never took a single computer class and has learned lear-ned most of what he knows about computers on his own. He now is the main instructor at the Institute for business applications software. The free seminar will be a condensed con-densed version of several workshops taught at the Investor's Boot Camp -the most popular course offered at Jefferson Institute. For those who want to get a better handle on investing in-vesting or personal finances, this Tree session is a must. (L ? I 1 |
