Five Starters Sign With Stars The Utah Stars this week came to terms with guard John Roche, and this veteran guard's signing finds the Stars with all five of their starters from last year under contract for the upcoming 1975-76 season. As I stated when I first came to the Stars last January, I feel it is my responsibility to continue the winning ways of the Utah franchise, said Stars' general manager Bill Orwig in making the announcement. John's decision deci-sion to remain with the Stars is a big step in attaining that goal. Roche came to the Stars on Jan. 15 of this year after playing play-ing for two-and-a-half seasons with the New York Nets and parts of two campaigns with the Kentucky Ken-tucky Colonels. Other Stars veterans already under contract for 1975-76 include in-clude team captain Ron Boone, last year's rookie sensation Moses Malone, Randy Denton and JimEakins. These five players really were molded into an efficient unit in the playoffs, and even though bowing out in the first round with a six-game six-game defeat byDenver, their performances per-formances provided the Stars with great optimism for the future. fu-ture. The next step for the Stars is the signing of rookie prospects. Orwig is confident the club will have good success in inking some of the five players chosen in the recent ABA draft, in order: Steve 'Kresh' Recruits Tall Replacement From Yugoslavia The influence of Kresimir Cosic, the Yugoslavian giant who was one of the most exciting basketball players ever to don a Cougar uniform is still felt at Brigham Young University.
