Hotes 11' Quotes Some time back, we related that the mountain lion has been added to the list of big game animals that were not accepted for the North American Big Game Awards Program of the Boone and Crockett Club. This statement state-ment was not complete. The correct cor-rect information is that mountain lions from states or provinces paying a bounty on lions are not eligible for the awards program. This was done to encourage recognition re-cognition of the mountain lion as a game animal and result in con trolled harvests. In Utah, the h mountain lion is a small game f animal and harvest are regu- lated. Therefore, lions legally taken in Utah are elibible for I the program. Inventories just completed by ? the Bureau of Land Management show that wild horses in Oregon r are increasing at a rate of 21 percent each year, according to the Wildlife Management Institute.
