After stopping at the Visitor's Center travelers usually decide to tour the park along the scenic road leading south from park headquarters. The well-graded roads In Calitol Reef are easily passable by conventional cars, but visitors should be sure to observe the park service precautions about flash floods: Never park in a shallow lowland low-land area or enter a gorge while it's raining.
