Fairbourn, retiring re-tiring school teacher, was honored at a faculty party before be-fore the end of school. Affectionately known as 'Allle by her friends, Mrs. Fairbourn is the daughter of the late John Albert Scorup, Utah cattleman, and Emma T. Bayles, also a school teacher. She married Rulon Rhodes Fairbourn in the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple on Friday, the thirteenth of June, 1930. Two years prior she had received her AB degree from BYU with a major in clothing and a minor in physical education. She first taught in Grand County High and the following year taught in Pleasant Grove High School. Following her marriage her teaching was interrupted until 1956. The family lived first on a chicken ranchandinl935 moved to Sevier County ona cattle ranch. Six children were born to the Fairbourns, two daughters and four sons. Twin sons died the day they were born and Mr. F alrbour n died of addison disease in 1947. Mrs. Fairbourn operated the cattle ranch until 1962, then the family moved to Salina for one year and finally purchased a home in Orem. In 1956 she obtained an elementary ele-mentary certificate to teach in grade school She taught inSevier County seven years and was a building superintendent for five years. For the past few years she has taught at Geneva School, Mrs. Fairbourn has four living liv-ing children and 10 grandchildren: grand-children: Mrs. Robert M. (Marilyn) (Mari-lyn) Jensen, South Jordan; Mrs. Charles W. (Joyce) Hanks, Fullerton, Calif., Capt. Lee Ray Fairbourn, pilot in the USAF stationed inThialand; Dennis Rulon Fairbourn, second lieutenant lieuten-ant in the USAF, presently attending at-tending the University of Oregon Dental University. All of the children attended BYU and three will have graduated gradu-ated from BYU by August. They were able to go to college by savings from 4-H projects which Mrs. Fairbourn supervised.
