Laurie Gillman, 9th grade secretary, and Keith Walker, 9th grade vice president presi-dent presented a watch to Mr. Scott Wilkins who has voluntarily given his services in driving the Orem City ambulance. A bouquet of roses was presented to his wife. Studentbody president, Jim Mecham, then turned over a contribution con-tribution check of $250 to Police Chief Simmons. The funds were collected as a studentbody project pro-ject to help recondition theorem City ambulance. Among civic leaders who spoke at the assembly were Mayor Winston Crawford and Mr. Stanley Leavitt. O.J.H. thanks Mrs. Kathryn Elegante. It was she who first suggested honoring Mr. Wilkins. She also gave $50 of the $250 collected for the ambulance. ambul-ance. For the first three weeks of May a debate tournament was held sponsored by English teacher, Mr. Larry Christensen, Students from eighth and ninth grades debated many interesting topics.
