Show Phillip Russon Alpine Man Succumbs ALPINE - Phillip Ervin Russon, Rus-son, 69, Alpine, died Sunday, Oct. 4, in the Utah Valley Hospital Hos-pital of cancer. He was born April1 3, 1901, in Springville, a son of George and Inza Houtz Russon, He married Hannah Hanson on Jan. 5, 1923, in Salt Lake City; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Russon was employed for 23 years by Hercules Powder Co. at Bacchus, Utah. For 10 years he lived in Roosevelt. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Bishopric for 10 years. At the time of his death, be was a Salt Lake Temple ordinance worker. Survivors include his widow; three sons and three daughters, Keith E. and Wayne P. Russon, both of Alpine; Mrs. Orval C. (LaPriel) Bawden and Wendell G. Russon, both of Orem; Mrs. Clark L. (Barbara) Roberts, Myton; Mrs. C. Richard (Phyllis) Barber, Salt Lake City; 35 grandchildren; grand-children; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Hilda) Bushman and Mrs. Marlin (Mildred) Christiansen, Christian-sen, Lehi; Mrs. Arthur (Velma) Olsen, Kaysville. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Alpine. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Illness Claims Orem Man, 45 Donell Christensen, 45, 1433 S. 650 E., Orem, died Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City of multiple sclerosis. He was born July 16, 1925, in Moroni, Utah, a son of Anthony and Anna Monso Christensen. He married Grace Hansen on March 17, 1943, in Moroni. He received his early education in Moroni schools and after his marriage they lived there. He joined the U.S. Navy Dec. 15, 1944, and was stationed aboard the USS Washington. He was discharged April 20, 1946, in Boston Mass., and moved to Provo where he was employed by Utah Appliance Co. as a serviceman ser-viceman for 15 years. In 1959 he moved to Orem where he was living at the time of his death. He had retired because of ill health in 1961. He was a member mem-ber of the LDS Church, being an Elder at the time of his death. His hobbles were hunting and fishing. Survivors include his widow; one son and two daughters, Richard Rich-ard A. Christensen, in the U.S. Army in Fort Polk, La.; Mrs. Lloyd (Linda) Johnson and Mrs. Rand (Trudy) Carter, both of Orem; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. DeVona Cox, Pro-, vo; Mrs. Adelle Carter, Moroni;' Mrs. Anna Otteson, Grantsville. Funeral services were held in Provo Wednesday. Burial was in the OremCity Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded. 12 YEAR-OLD BREAKS ARM IN SCHOOL MISHAP Becky Johnson, 12, suffered a broken arm Tuesday on the athletic field east of Lincoln Junior High School. IV J Vola Ward Vola Ward Rites Held Funeral services were held Tuesday in Orem for Vola Lar-sen Lar-sen Ward, 70, 1266 N. 503 E., Orem, who died Friday evening of a heart attack and was pronounced pro-nounced dead at the Utah Valley Hospital emergency ward. She was born Sept. 13, 1900, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of James C. and Adelaide Prest-wich Prest-wich Larsen. She married Wil liam Robert Ward on March 4, 1920, in Castle Dale, Emery Co. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church, beinga Relief Society visiting teacher for many years. Mrs. Ward lived most of her adult life inCleveland, Emery Co., until 1962, when they moved to Orem. Survivors include her husband of Orem; her mother, Mrs. Adelaide Ade-laide Shaw, Orem; five sons and three daughters, Clarence J. and William E. Ward, both of Orem; Mrs. Clell (Ella) Anderson; Mrs. Darwin (Wynona) Oveson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ronald (Mildred) (Mild-red) Oveson, Murray; Orval Ward, Columbia, Carbon Co.; Jerry Lee Ward, Pueblo, Colo.; Stanley R. Edwards, 85, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 30 at his home, 611 N. 8th E., Orem, after an extended illness. He was born in Almy, Wyo., July 19, 1895, a son of Cornelius Corn-elius and Elizabeth Blythe Edwards. Ed-wards. He married Mary Christine Mowers on Dec. 24, 1918, in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the LDS Church. His parents moved the family to Evenston, Wyo., where he received his education edu-cation and worked on his father's ranch. He then moved to Frontier, Wyo., and worked for the Kem-merer Kem-merer Coal Co. for 25 years. During this period he received a gold medal from the company for bravery and good judgement In mine rescue work. After his marriage they lived in Wyoming until 1937, when they moved to Orem where they had since resided. He was a fruit farmer and also worked on construction con-struction of Geneva Steel Plant and the Deer Creek Dam. He married Delpha Piepgrass in the Cardston LDS Temple. He moved with his parents to Raymond, Alberta, Canada, in 1901, where he was educated. In 1939 he and his wife and family moved to New York where they had lived since. Mr. Wall was an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church, serving in three bishoprics, as Elders Quorum president, YMMIA superintendent sup-erintendent and on the stake high council.
