Show if Lehi Announces Contest For Roundup Queen All lady riders from all parts of the state are cordially invited .to participate in the annual Queen-O-deo Saturday, June 22, at the Lehi Rodeo Arena, in the selection selec-tion of a queen and two attendants attend-ants who will reign over the Lehi' roundup, June 27, 28, and 29. All girls, 16 years and over, that have not been a former queen of the Lehi Roundup and have not been a queen or an attendant of a previous show this year will be eligible to compete. Former attendants at-tendants of the Lehi Roundup are eligible to compete. Judging will take place on points as follows: Horsemanship -50 percent, General Appearance - 20 percent, and Mount - 30 percent. Stallions will not be allowed al-lowed as mounts, " Attractive trophy buckles will be prepared for the queen and her two attendants. These sterling sterl-ing silver, gold-trimmed belt buckles, engraved with the girls' names, will be awarded. They make keepsakes to be treasured. The queen and her two attendants attend-ants will make radio and television tel-evision appearances, as well as visit the Governor of the State to extend an invitation to him to attend at-tend the Lehi Roundup, June 27, 28, and 29. It is stressed by the Committee that availability for these appearances is required. A full evening of western entertainment en-tertainment is planned for the Queen-O-deo, which will include bareback bronc riding, kids calf riding, jackpot calf roping, as well as a number of mounted contest events. The highlight of the evening will be the selection of the queen and two attendants who will reign over the Lehi Roundup. the big full evening of western entertainment, Lehi Queen-O-deo, Saturday, June 22, 8 p.m. at the Lehi Rodeo Arnea, is free to the general public. Refreshments will be sold and a good time is . Swimming Classes t Still Available There still are openings in the Scera Pool swim classes, it was announced today. Additional classes clas-ses will be opened, also, if registration reg-istration justifies it. Later summer sum-mer session classes for ages five years to adult have openings, too according to Parlell Peterson, director. Boy Scout groups are urged to register for their life saving and merit badge requirements. Registration fees must be paid at the time of enrollment. VFW Installs New Officers Officers for the Orem Veterans of Foreign Wars for the year 1968-69 were installed Saturday in ceremonies at the Orem VFW Mrs. William Davis Hall. Martin, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Martin of 63 E. 1600 S., Orem, has completed eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Ilsand, S.C. Parris Island is the only train ing base for recruit Women Marines. Ma-rines. Her training included drill, first aid, personal standards, courtesy and customs of the Marine Corps, military discipline, and other general military subjects.
