Thursday, May 2, 1957 Tribute to Mothers Paid by Orem Women's Club 68 Members and guests were entertained at the "Mothers Day Tea" held Wednesday, May 1, at the Scera auditorium. They were welcomed by club president, presi-dent, Mrs. Merlin Finch who arranged the Mother's Day pro-tram, pro-tram, and introduced Mr. Richard Rich-ard Dastrup. I nr. iUu ' i I NEW OREM PTA OFFICERS Four women elected to hold office for the 1957-58 school season are standing left to right Mrs. Martall (Beulah) Keetch who was elected Secretary. Secre-tary. Mrs. Moroni (Jean) Jensen elected Vice President. Mrs. Edward J. (Mina) Brown elected President. Mrs. Stanley H. (La Von) Roberts will be the Secretary. Committee chairmen will be appointed and announced at a later date. Final Rites Friday For Infant Son Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Friday at 1 p. m. in the Olpin-JSundberg Mortuary for Randy V. Baxter, five-day old son of Adair and Shirley Baxter, Bax-ter, who died Wednesday morn-ning morn-ning at the American Fork Hospital, Hos-pital, of a lung failure. He was toorn in American Fork, April 26. Surviving, are his parents, of Orem; two brothers and one sis ter, Alan. Kerry and Shannan Baxter, all of Orem; three grandparents, Mrs. W. K. Dye, Neola. Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Vance Baxter, Orem. Eldon Smith, bishop of the Orem Sixth Ward will officiate at the services. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem Cemetery. YOUNG OREM MAN SERVES AS SALES MANAGER FOR LOCAL AWNING FIRM Serving as local factory representative rep-resentative and sales manager for the Kool Breeze Awning Co. of Orem 1544 South State, is Jerry Peters of Orem. For the past two years Mr. Peters has been associated with the Kool Breeze firm. Presently he is copartner co-partner of the local company along with Joe Wyatt, also oi Orem. A graduate of Lincoln High School and a former student of Brigham Young University, Jerry Jer-ry has been prominent in church softball play in this area. Two years ago Jerry was a member of the 'Orem First Ward soft-ball soft-ball team, who captured second place honors in the LDS All-Church All-Church Softball Tourney in Salt Lake City. This year he plans to be a member of the Orem Third Ward softball team. Jerry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peters of Orem. His father, fa-ther, who is a county deputy sheriff, was formerly chief of police in Orem. Jerry served in the navy during dur-ing the Korean police action. He is married to the former Deane Jacobson of Provo. They reside at 957 West 370 North in Orem. When it comes to describing and selling his company's product, prod-uct, Jerry doesn't take a back seat to anybody. Christen- sent, district mother of the year was an honored guest and spoke briefly about her experiences at the banquet honoring all the district mothers. She urged all mothers to live nobly. She said "As one lamp lights another, an-other, nor grows less, so nobleness noble-ness enkindleth nobleness." She was presented with a beautiful floral arrangement from Roh-bocks Roh-bocks floral, symbolizing a tribute trib-ute to all mothers. Gary Davis, from the BYU did three comedy pantomimes assisted as-sisted by Jim West. Mrs. Moroni Jensen, art chairman, presented awards to the winners of art contest from Orem high school. The hostess table in the foyer of the Scera was beautifully set with lighted tapers and a flor al arrangement in the club col ors silver and cerise. Each guest was presented with a favor, a delightfully fragrant s achet with a tribute to mothers, each hand printed and made by Mrs. Parlell Peterson. The program was as follows. Congregation was welcomed by Sharon Jacklin who also explained ex-plained requirements necessary to qualify for tying the bouquet A special tribute and presentation presenta-tion of a beautiful red rose cor sage to leader, Mrs. Robert M.
