Show welled The funny thing about ski towns like Park City is they're a) cold, and b) at high elevations. As such, weather and altitude play a huge role in a extended stays and day trips to Park City, and both can ultimately make or break the experience. Weather during the winter months can be downright frigid. Granted, East Coasters are right when they say Utah winters are dry and therefore more manageable, manage-able, cold is cold. With average highs in the 33-35 33-35 degree range and lows bottoming bot-toming out in the 9-11 degree neighborhood, plan on bundling up whether you're hitting the slopes or the shops. Winters in Utah are extremely dry, so having lotion and lip balm is not a luxury. Neither is drinking plenty of water to prevent pre-vent dehydration. With a base altitude of 6,900 feet and summit elevations at the various ski resorts above 10,000 feet, Park City is practi-. cally in the clouds. Keep that in mind. It's easy to over-exert yourself as you play in the outdoors out-doors due to the thin, cold air. It's absolutely crucial to drink plenty of liquid, to take breaks and to be careful when consuming consum-ing alcoholic beverages Utah's beer might only be 3.2 percent, but the effect is somewhat mag-' nified by the lack of oxygen. $0 ii .,); u tit lUijs u (sJf 2972 N. 900 EAST UPPER LOOP PD.
