Show DMuiKMiitntfDim Page A8 Thursday, July 27, 1995 The Park Record D Section A Daughters of the Earth host three-day camp at Rockport Girl Scouts from throughout Wasatch and Summit Counties came together at Rockport State Park as part of a three-day camp hosted by Daughters of the Earth, July 18-20. It was a celebration of communal living with each other and with Mother Earth. The Earth Day Camp strives to nurture individual self esteem through appreciation of the Earth and its resources. Participants learned about the celebration of abundance and sharing. "It was putting your pride into something to give to someone some-one else... knowing the pride and feelings attached to the gift are fragile and precious. ' ! wv r 45;j d PCSD gets high tech Thanks to the bond election last month, all schools in the Park City School District will get over $600,000 worth of computer equipment as approved by the school board at their July 25 regular session. Not only will students be able to travel the Internet but they will be able to E-mail the other schools in the district. The technology lendlease purchases from Macintosh include computers, com-puters, printers, modems, camcorders, cam-corders, and laser disc players. Mike Andrews, principal of Park City High School, said, "Before we just had wires. At least now we have something to go at the end of the wires." UVSC offers mall courses Utah Valley State College is making it less costly to get a college education. Courses are being offered by UVSCs School of Continuing Education at the University Mall for the convenience conve-nience of those who do not want to travel the distance to campus. In the past a fee of $38, along with tuition, was charged to each student participating partic-ipating in the mall courses. But beginning fall of 1995, there will not be the $38 charge. Students interested in the mall courses will pay only the price of tuition; no off-campus fees will be charged.
