Over the course of the winter season, the Park Record will use this space to report on all activities at the park, including results, stories and photos of all the events. With 10 teams taking part, the Series is split into two groups, A and B, that face off bi-weekly in a season-long series of competitions on Wednesday nights. At the end of the season, the A and B winners will face each other during the March Madness culmination of the winter jumping season. Maclsaac is third in K65 gelande jumping meet Friday Night Junior Jump Challenge results This Friday Night Series is "designed for the kids in the Junior Jumping Program," according to Jeff Volmrich of the Bear Hollow Winter Sports Club, and features weekly competition at Bear Hollow. The jumpers competed according to gelande rules, with poles and on stock alpine skiing gear with a 225-meter limit on ski length. In the final competition on Sunday, Midway's Doug Maclsaac, an employee at the - Winter Sports Park, was one of four jumpers (out of 30) with a first-jump high score of 219. - Scores consisted of the jump's . ; - distance in feet combined with up to a possible 30 style points. With 20 jumpers in the second round, Maclsaac scored 227, equal with Mike Wogrin but three points behind Tod Brownell. Going into the final round of 15 jumpers, Brownell led with 449 points, with Wogrin and Maclsaac three points back at 446. Maclsaac's final jump, worth 227 points and 673 overall, was good enough for third place overall. He was the highest placing local in the competition. Wogrin, from Denver, had the highest-scoring final jump, 230 points, but couldn't make up the difference on Lake Tahoe's Brownell, whose third jump of 228 points gave him a one-point victory, 677-676, over Wogrin.
