No to commercial changes A controversial amending ordinance for Park City's general commercial zone was voted down by city council members Thursday, Nov. 5. Council members said they agreed with the planning commission suggestion sugges-tion that the entire zone be reworked and not changed through a piecemeal approach. ap-proach. The council unanimously denied the ordinance, with council member Kristen Rogers requesting "special provisions" of the ordinance such as the setback and sloping roof line receive "special attention" when the staff revises the zone. Interest on annexing? The city has received some interest from a developer who has an option of property called the Smith Ranch just outside city limits. The developer has asked whether the city would be interested in annexing the property and whether it would accept a master plan to turn the land into single-family housing, said the city's Senior Planner, Nora Seltenrich. The property is large, and very roughly borders the information keyosk, Hwy. 224 and the Osguthorpe property. "Discussions are very preliminary," noted Seltenrich, who said the city has not received an application from the developer yet. "We anticipate seeing something in a couple of weeks," she added.
