Bells, Bells Y Through the ages, bells have served many purposes announcing the approach of vehicles, vehi-cles, for instance, or signaling sig-naling the beginning of curfew. Early associated with churches, by medieval medi-eval times the pealing of the bells had come to signify the rejoicing of the Christmas season. An early custom was the tolling of church bells on Christmas Eve, during the hour before midnight. The tolling announced the death of Satan, and at midnight joyous peals told of the birth of Christ. In England, where bell-ringing is an honored, hon-ored, family-taught art, the tuneful bells ring out at seven-thirty on Christmas morning. It takes years of training train-ing and practice to learn the ringing of complex "changes, as the different differ-ent chants and tonal combinations are called. i NOTICE TO CREDITORS ESTATE OF JESSE A. Girl Scouts Plan For Campsife Near Moab, Utah Sparked by a donation from the Civltaln Club of Moab, the Utah Girl Scout Council this week made definite plans to acquire ac-quire and develop a camp site In the Castle Valley area, near Moab. Mrs. Mitchell Melich, Vice President of the Council, E. E. Drake, LaVar Wilson, Frank Tipple, and John Conrow, of Salt Lake City, have agreed to serve on the ad hoc development develop-ment committee. Mrs. Murray Moler, Ogden, President of the Council, said, "We have long felt the need of a camp for girls In this area. If the proper site, with a good water supply, can be acquired, we feel it would open up the scenic wonders of the Moab area to Girl Scouts from all over ov-er the state. "A campsite that is accessible access-ible year-round would be an ideal base camp for trips to the Arches, Dead Horse Point, Mesa Verde and the other geographic geo-graphic wonders of this part of the state." Mrs. Moler sair that development develop-ment of the camp would depend on the finances available. Initial In-itial construction would include toilet facilities and a cooking shelter. Any expansion of Girl Scout camp facilities is financed by individual and group contributions, contribu-tions, such as that from the Civltain Club, and proceeds from the annual cookie sale, Mrs. Moler explained.
