Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Toni Stewart School Activities This Week Included Senior High Council party was held Monday, May 13 from noon to 5th period. On Tuesday, B Day girls athletic contests were held with the senior girls winning win-ning the events. Lagoon Day for all Jordan District junior high students was held Wednesday. The LDS Seminary graduation was held last night (Thursday) at Copperton Ward. Tne uins Club will hold a tea for the senior sen-ior girls after school today (Friday) (Fri-day) and the Dance Club will honor graduating girls with a party tonight (Friday). The Min-erettes Min-erettes will hold a party in honor of the senior Minerettes at the home of Sophia Kampros this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Band Notes ;. The Bingham High School band will march in the Armed Forces Day parade in Salt Lake City I tomorrow, Saturday, May 18th. Citizen of the Year Edward Aguayo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Aguayo of Kearns, formerly of Copperfield, last Thursday was selected "Citizen of the Year" by the Boys Club Association. Edward is boy's athletic manager of the senior class, active in wrestling, basketball basket-ball and football, and an officer in the Boys Club and also the Prospectors Club. Other candidates candid-ates competing for the honor were Norman Bianchi, Andy Trujillo, Gary Saltas, Bob Davis and Joe Robertson. Prep Sports Bingham High School's baseball base-ball team, winners of the Region Six baseball championship, play North Sevier at Salina in a semifinal semi-final tilt today, Friday. An opening singles victory by Swain sparked Bingham High's tennis team to a 2 to 1 victory over Grantsville here last Friday. Swain defeated Hatch in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. The other doubles match went to the losers' Eddy and Thomas, who rallied to beat Johnson and Pul-lan, Pul-lan, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Senior Events The Senior Class party will be held at the Homestead this Monday, Mon-day, May 20th. Graduation is next Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. Other Activities The award assembly will be held Wednesday morning, May 22, it was announced and Thursday, Thurs-day, May 23, is yearbook day. Senior Class Award Banquet Forty-nine seniors met the requirements re-quirements necessary to be eligible elig-ible to attend the senior class achievement award banquet, which was held Monday night, May 13, at the Doll Mouse in Salt Lake City.
