Our beloved mother and grandmother, Geneva Kapp, celebrated her 90th birthday this past week. She was honored at a family party attended by her children, Grant (Judy) Kapp, Patti Pal-lat, Pal-lat, Peggy (Kent) Wright, Sue (Brett) Durrant and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Geneva grew up in Ogden where she and her then future fu-ture husband, Bill, attended Weber High School. Soon after their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, they moved to Springville where Geneva still resides. For many years, Gen and Bill owned and operated a local favorite, Kapp's Cafe in downtown Springville (where Vaud's Furniture is presently located), later moving their restaurant to a larger facility and renaming it the Melody Inn. This be came a well-known restaurant restau-rant throughout a tri-state area, with many coming from all over to enjoy Gen's delicious and ever-famous homemade soups, rolls, pies and chicken noodles. She, along with Bill, served faithfully in many church callings, including in the Provo Temple for nearly 20 years. Bill passed away in 1987. "Happy Birthday, mom!
