UPXLPA f Christmas is a wonderful time of the year to spend with the ones you love and to enjoy the festivities festivi-ties and holiday cheer. Being Be-ing away from home over the holidays can be a vlry difficult and lonely experi- ence. Patients at the Utah; State Hospital can enjoy the holidays through the kindness and concern of people in the community through the Forgotten Patient Pa-tient Christmas Project. The Forgotten Patient Christmas Project recruits volunteers to provide gifts j for patients that would otherwise receive little or . nothing during the-holi- days. Sponsors are given -the name(s) of someone between be-tween the ages of six and ninety to provide Christmas Christ-mas for. Information about the person is sent to the sponsor spon-sor including age, clothing sizes, hobbies, interests, favorite candy, etc. the sponsors wrap and label the packages and deliver them to the hospital prior to Christmas. There are other ways individuals or groups can help other than sonsoring a patient. Donations of cash I or generic items (socks, underwear, deodorant, brushes, candy, etc.) are also appreciated. Groups for caroling or parties are always wlecome. . The project is often the only touch of the holiday season that some of these Brookside students were awesomely entertained on Friday, Nov. 16, by Steve James, creator of the Prevention Dimension character education songs. Steve did a wonderful job entertaining and presenting the idea of avoiding drugs, alcohol, violence and crime. He sang to the students and the students were able to joy in the singing too. tUEILDE :RJODE PUBLIC NOTICE Public Notice is hereby given that the Springville City Council adopted ad-opted Ordinance Number 36-2007 which amends 11-3-402, 11-4-301, and 11-7-205 of the Springville City Code regard ing the inclusion of Rehabilitation and Treatment Facilities Facili-ties as a conditional condition-al use in the Highway High-way Commercial (HQ and Business Park (BP) zones, and identifies the specific conditions necessary for approval. ap-proval. According Ac-cording to the National Association of Realtors, sales of vacation homes were up 4.7 percent last year to a new record of 1 .07 million. Reasons for this rise include strong demographic and lifestyle factors. Baby Boomers are nearing retirement age, which is leading to a strong desire for vacation homes. Because many Boomers want their place in the sun (or woods, or lake, or mountains), they put it high on their priority lists. This results in a strong market, of which potential sellers should be aware. If you are looking to sell a vacation home, now may be a good time. Putting a vacation property on the market requires a different strategy than selling a primary residence. Sales activity is motivated not only by the time of year when most visitors arrive, but also by the season when potential poten-tial buyers hope to get the most use out of their homes. UTAH VALLEY REAL ESTATE is where you will find an agent who understands the differences between marketing second or vacation homes and primary residences. resi-dences.
