On October 24th and 25th, the Mapleton Junior High Orchestra played an excellent excel-lent concert. The seventh graders played songs with suspense and with enticing surprises. The eighth graders grad-ers had an excellent performance perfor-mance as welL The decorations complemented comple-mented the event and made the atmosphere spooky and fun. Mrs. Helquist and Ms. Barnett, the orchestra conductors, con-ductors, shared in the excitement ex-citement by dressing up as a crazy lady (Helquist) and Lady Captain Hook (Barnett). (Bar-nett). Students dressed up in a variety of things, i.e. ketchup, Jedi Knights, sumo wrestlers, hillbillies, vampires, vam-pires, princesses, nerds, and many others. Many students walked away proud with what they accomplished. Help was needed to prepare pre-pare for the concert, so volunteer students, parents, par-ents, and "angels" (as Mrs. Helquist put it) came and helped with the decorations and the setting-up of chairs. "Thank you to those who helped. You saved me and Ms. Barnett a lot of time," Mrs. Helquist said to her third period students.
