David Jensen, son of Blake and Kelly Jensen, was selected as the Red Devil Football JV Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi. He plays cornerback and runningback. Cameron Comer, son of Gail Comer, was selected as the Red Devil football Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi. Boyer, son of Jay and Linda Boyer, was selected as the Red Devil Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi. He plays offensive center and on special teams. Sumner Norman, son of Stewart and Annie Norman, was selected as the Red Devil Football Scout Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi. Steve Nelson, son of DeVon and Pat Nelson, was selected as the Red Devil Football Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi. He had 16 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown. Mike Newbury, son of Ray and Pat Newbury, was selected as the Red Devil Football Red Zone Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the game against Lehi., He got 14 defensive points, with 3 catches for 23 yards. Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush. - Doug Larson Springville High School . will host the 2006 College Tour for seniors on Monday, Mon-day, Oct. 2. Seniors will go to first period for roll call and then be excused to attend at-tend the opening meeting of the tour in the auditorium auditori-um at 8:05. At the conclusion of the meeting, seniors will have the opportunity to meet with the representatives of three different schools. Colleges and universities universi-ties whose representatives will be at the high school to make presentations are Utah Valley State College, College of Eastern Utah, Snow College, Dixie State College, Westminster College, Col-lege, Mountainland Applied Ap-plied Technology College, Salt Lake Community College, Col-lege, Weber State College, Utah State University, University Uni-versity of Utah, Southern Utah University, Brigham Young University, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Idaho, and LDS Business College. Seniors will be given a paper when entering the auditorium that will show in which rooms the representatives repre-sentatives will be located. All, except the LDS Church Education System schools, will be in the main building of the high school. The CES schools will be in the Seminary Semi-nary building. Parents of seniors are also invited to come to the high school for the tour. The College Tour will be from 8:05 to 11 a.m. .: IIjkJL, . Sant is in her 26th year of teaching, having taught in Payson, Spanish Fork. Salem and Mapleton. She has been a classroom teacher, worked with BYU as a Clinical Faculty Associate, and is now the BYU-Nebo Partnership Facilitator for Hobble Creek. She has earned a BS and MA from BYU, and belongs to several professional organizations including NEA, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society for teachers, along with Phi Delta Kappa. To date, preliminary epidemiological evidence suggests that bagged spinach may be a possible cause of this outbreak. out-break. "There are currently 11 lab confirmed cases in Utah. E. coli 0157:H7 causes a diarrheal illness, often with bloody stools; diarrhea may range from mild without blood to stools that are virtually all blood. The incubation incu-bation period is 2-10 days. Lack of a fever inmost patients may help differentiate differen-tiate this infectioa Although most healthy adults recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. Also to date in Utah there have been 120 human cases of West Nile Virus with almost half (55) in Utah County. There have been 40 cases in horses with 17 of those in Utah County. Dogs and Cats seem not tn have a problem with this virus. m |
