Center - Springville Mr. Kindrick of the SDringville Junior team. High School is doing an excellent job. He is currently a physical science teacher and the. coach for the ninth grade girl's basketball He sells candv and dod in his room to raise money for the girl's basketball team. He also organizes special fund-raisers to get extra money for the team. He said that he started teaching because he loves teenagers and they make him feel young. He has a loving wife and four kids. In his free time he likes to go to the gym and pump iron, and run and work on his basketball bas-ketball skills. He started to coach the girl's basketball team because it is the sport he knows most about coaching. He used to play ' and still participates in all of the major sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, and football. His career has been quite successful. He has been a coach for nine years; three of which have been at the Jr. High. He has taught for five years. Three have been here at Springville. We are glad to have Mr. Kindrick at our school. Keep up the good work! Final casting finally here! Final Casting was posted on Monday, Jan. 23, for the Jr. High Production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat." Rehearsals are under way and the play will be great. Congratulations to the following fol-lowing students who will appear ap-pear in the play. Narrators, Shelbi Bradley and Alyssa Packard; Mrs. Potiphar, Tatem Credille; Joseph, Tyler Wood; Brothers: Skyler Hansen, Eric Evans, thought it was a good learning learn-ing experience for their kids to be out in the real world. There was some controversy over all this for the 9th graders that had to sit and learn in school that day. On the whole, it was a great experience, ex-perience, and 8th graders nope it will happen again next year. Sean Allsop, Jefferson Mc-Clain, Mc-Clain, Chris Cook, Lance Earnshaw, Logan Millsap, Nathan Sutterfield, Tyler Brinkerhoff , Steve Warren and Zac Hixson(Soloists within brothers will be announced an-nounced later); Pharaoh, Michael White; Potiphar, Nathan Richey; Jacob, Spencer Donnelly; Butler, Chandler Tedrow; and Baker, Bak-er, Joe Stoddard. Other singers and dancers names are not listed. Final casting was a very thrilling time for some, and not so thrilling for others. Most of the cast members are guys so a lot of girls were cut. Over 100 students tried out for the play. Some students walked away with their heads held high, and others did not. This play will be one of the best this school has ever performed. This particular play has fewer parts in it than plays the Jr. High has performed in past years. It calls for about 32 parts but the school is adding about 10 more students stu-dents for background singers and dancers. All in all, the play has around 40-42 40-42 students. All of the students at the Jr. High hope you come and see the show. They promise they won't disappoint you. Montapert Girls Basketball Game Vs. Lehi Davis Leslie Stapel SHS STAFF WRITER The Springville High School Girls' Varsity Basketball Basket-ball Team played a game worth mentioning last Friday Fri-day night, Feb. 3. The game was against the Lehi Pioneers. Pio-neers. In the first overtime, we got a foul and so Lehi got to shoot three. Lehi made all three points which sent the team into double overtime. Varsity went into double overtime but wasn't able to pull off a win. They did, however, how-ever, keep the crowd on the edge of their seats. Macarie Ratcliff said, "It was a very close game. You really didn't know who would win until the end of it!" The SHS Junior Varsity also lost against Lehi. However, How-ever, the sophomore team managed to win. The next game up for the girls is Friday Fri-day at Provo. Come see our Springville High School Girls Basketball at 7p.m. Orem made so far this year. She said, "Well we started out this year with a really tough pre-season, and that was tough to deal with. But I think it was good for us because be-cause it just got us more prepared pre-pared for region play. And I'm sure the team feels the same way. I think the rocky start was good for us. I'm not saying that I'd want to do it again, but it was good for us." I would like to wish our Lady Red Devils luck in their next match up, and I would also like to thank Lindsey for taking the time for the interview. daughter." Daniela said, "Before "Be-fore I started interning, when it was just my normal job, I would slack off or not come in ... but now I realize the importance of being on time." While working there Daniela interacted with the six employees, learning about each job and how to do it. She worked alongside veterinary vet-erinary assistants, a BYU student who is currently studying veterinary medicine, medi-cine, front desk people, and a junior high student who comes and helps on Mondays. Mon-days. Daniela said that she mostly most-ly does the secretary work. She answers phones, answers an-swers callers' questions, and does computer work, "filling out forms, mailing letters, etc." She says, "It may be weird, but I like all pf the tasks involved with being a secretary." - J 7HH LmsmC gastric mm Now a "Minimally Invasive" Surgical Approach to the Treatment of Severe Obesity PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT SEMINAR ON MARCH 9th at 6:00 p.m. at Dr. Cannons Office in Payson 465-1701 (L j Call for directions anon uperauun: usually i nours Short Hospital Stay: usually 48 hours in hospital - Laparoscopic: 6 small 1 inch or less incisions Minimal pain: usually no pain meds needed after 5 days. ; Over 200,000 patients from 50 states per year Major Weight Loss (Average 85ft excess weight ( 100 lbs)) Relief of Associated Medical Illnessess in 9()ft of all cases (Diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, heart failure, urinary incontinence, high cholesterol, osteoarthritis -live life in a normal sized body!!)
