'' - " 7 l M jM domination at wrestling meet John Van Wagoner I SHS STAFF WRITER ; At the region wrestling meet last Friday night, the Red Devils dominated the region re-gion scene. The team qualified quali-fied 18 wrestlers for the state tournament, which is 3rd highest in the entire state, behind be-hind Mountain Crest and den Belknap, Caleb Christian, Christ-ian, Devin Bodily, and Kyle Lif f erth. The 5th place finishers finish-ers were Will Pendleton, Rans Sorensen, Brandon Mayo and Hayden Petersen. The only one of these finishers fin-ishers not to go to state is Mayo because his weight only took the top 4. the Delta and Region tournaments, tourna-ments, the team is peaking at the right time, right before state." J MARIO RUIZDaily Herald Tyson Stark of Springville during the men's 100 yard breaststroke Saturday Box Elder which coincident-ly coincident-ly are the only two teams ahead of the Devils at the 1st and 2nd place spots in the state's overall 4-A rankings; they qualified 22 and 23 wrestlers each. -.The Red Devils did very well at region with four 1st place winners including: Jason Ja-son Chamberlain, Kolby Bradley, Logan Wilson, and Jared Bird. The Devils also had four wrestlers come in at 2nd place: Daryk Smith, Danny Dan-ny Hickman, Dusty Rat-cfiffe, Rat-cfiffe, and Adam Scheetz. Coming in at 3rd place were Jeff Brit, Tyson Hamilton, Hamil-ton, and Jacob Rawle. The 4th place finishers were El- Coach Judkins said, "We could take state in five of the weight classes if some wrestlers cowboy up; it will take them stepping up and everyone else placing and doing well for us to win State." Oh and if you haven't already al-ready guessed, the Devils won the Region Championship Champi-onship and the Region Dual Meet Championship. The latter lat-ter was won in amazing fashion as the Devils went 20-0, undefeated, to claim that crown. This Saturday, Feb. 11, at Springville High School the annual Sweethearts Sweet-hearts Dance will be held honoring love and friendship. friend-ship. The Future Farmers of America club (FFA) will be hosting the dance. The theme of this year's dance is "Now or never," so with only a few days until the dance, it's now or never if you want to ask that special someone.
