UVSC Leadership Conference 2005 Swimming breakfast and cell phone recycling fund-raiser Nick Angell - SHS STAFF WRITER : ' , :' Early in the morning of October 6, the SHS Swim Team hosted a breakfast at the Springville Community Pool. A spread of fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, cream cheese, juice, and milk was prepared and presented in the lobby for the enjoyment of all the early morning patrons and staff. The breakfast provided an opportunity for the early morning morn-ing swimmers and the SHS Swim Team members to get to know each other. Many team moms and the morning pool manager, Carol Jensen, were there to help with the breakfast. Coach Ben Rae remarked, re-marked, "Carol's been great to work with and the community adult swimmers really seem to appreciate the hard work and dedicated dedi-cated efforts of our high school swimmers. It really means a lot to the team to hear their comments of support and encouragement. It sure makes getting out of bed and foregoing that extra bit of morning sleep easier when you know you're going someplace that will be warm and welcoming." The SHS Swim Team is also making a "call" for your help in donating your old ceE phones you may have lying around. This recycling re-cycling fund-raiser earns funds for the swim team and helps dispose of the cell phones in an environmentally friendly manner. It all begins be-gins with a great attitude." The other speaker, Justice Christine Durham, spoke about the challenges she has overcome in her career; in 1971, only two percent of all lawyers were women. She said, "I have four items of advice for young people today. First, find and nurture nur-ture your personal style and strength. Second, Sec-ond, be clear about the jobs and tasks that are appropriate for you to grow. Third, look outward and forward and be a concerned con-cerned citizen.
