Four classes were chosen as special citizens and treated to banana splits: Mr. Evans, Mr. Averett, Miss Davis and Mr. Anderson's seventh period peri-od classes. The sixth grade super citizens citi-zens for the month of September Sep-tember 2005 are Casey Ashcraft, Kathryn McCul-loch, McCul-loch, Sadie Williams, Spencer Ballard, Travis Davies and Samuel Giraund-Carrier. Giraund-Carrier. The seventh grade super citizens for the month of September 2005 are Cindy Call, Ashley Parrott, Hayley Roney, Corbin Cutler, Tanner Tan-ner Wilson and Christopher Wolf. The super citizens were treated to lunch with the principal, Mrs. Kimball. Cindy is the daughter of Rick and Cristina Ashcraft of Springville. She enjoys reading, drawing, training her dog, scrapbooking, swimming and playing the piano. Kathryn is the daughter of Charles and Lori McCulloch of Mapleton. Her hobbies are singing, doing hair, scrap-booking, scrap-booking, playing softball, basketball and football and being a friend. Sadie is the daughter of Jason Ja-son and April Williams of Mapleton. She enjoys reading, read-ing, do training, swimming and playing basketball and softball. She has taken piano lessons for six years and is a member of the Springville summer swim team. Travis is the son of Lynn and Bonnie Davies and grandson of Lois Anderson, Grunt School kicks-off RED RIBBON WEEK , Grant School PTA President Pres-ident Dianne Singleton tied red ribbons to the trees in front of Grant School to start a week-long week-long celebration against drugs. Julia Singleton and Sarah Barker, both from Mrs. Cannon's K i n derga rt en class, showed their support sup-port for Monday's dress-up dress-up day - "Give the Slip to Drugs." They are wearing wear-ing their favorite slippers. slip-pers. Due to uncooperative weather, IHC had to postpone the Hot Air Balloon Bal-loon Assembly, but the assembly went on in a different way. Each class was given a red balloon with an enclosed note stating that Grant School is drug-free, with the e-mail e-mail address of the all of Springville. His hobbies are reading, being around animals, playing soccer, football foot-ball and basketball and playing play-ing the trombone in the school band. Samuel is the son of Christophe and Isabelle Gi-raund-Carrier of Springville. He enjoys playing video games, reading and can speak French. Cindy is the daughter of Vaughan and Kathryn Call of Springville. She enjoys E laying soccer and basket-all, basket-all, drawing and playing the clarinet and piano. Ashley is the daughter of Greg and Rebecca Parrott of Springville. She enjoys reading, read-ing, scrapbooking and playing play-ing soccer. Hayley is the daughter of Park and Stephanie Roney of Springville and granddaughter granddaugh-ter of Ben and Diane Card of Mapleton. Her hobbies are ice skating, drawing, writing, writ-ing, shopping, playing the piano pi-ano and playing tennis. Corbin is the son of Michael and Kelli Cutler and grandson of Wayne Cutler, ' all of Springville. He enjoys reading novels, playing video games, snowboarding, skiing and playing soccer. Tanner is the son of Brian and Barbara Wilson of Springville. He has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys en-joys growing plants and reading. Chris is the son of Robert and Kristie Wolf and grandson grand-son of Gordon and Deanna Hodgson and Carol Wolf, all of Springville. His hobbies are collecting insects, bird watching, building models, playing the clarinet and he has an orange belt in Karate. teacher and the school's mailing address. In unison, uni-son, each class released their balloon. Finders of the balloons are encouraged encour-aged to write to the class or e-mail the teacher to show their support of being be-ing drug-free. The school's PTA is sponsoring a poster contest, con-test, as well as dress-up for the remainder of the week. "We are so proud of our students at Grant for their understanding and knowledge of what Red Ribbon Week is all about," said Singleton. Flu shots available The Utah County Health Department De-partment will start flu vaccinations vaccina-tions on October 14th in their Immunization Im-munization Clinic at 151 South University Avenue in Provo. The clinic is open Monday through Friday and Wednesday evenings. UCHD also will be holding several Flu Clinics throughout the community.
