In a '90 minute presentation presenta-tion during work session, Chris Toleman, chairman of the commission, went on to tell the council that if your business is adjacent to the freeway the planning commission commis-sion would permit a 35 foot hjgh sign. The present existing exist-ing high signs are in the 80 fiiot high range. ! The McDonald's sign at the nprth Payson freeway access was quoted at 100 feet high and the adjacent Flying J sign as quoted at 90 freet high. ' Toleman also reported that the planning wants to set up six different regions with different dif-ferent signing regulations. Patients Pa-tients that come into see me with this condition will often state that their bursitis makes it difficult for them to sleep, waik and stand. ! Bursitis is often the result of njuscle imbalances. These muscle imbalances cause the hip joint to move abnormally. Increased pressure will also be experienced in the joints and the bursae near the hip. For example, ex-ample, when the gluteal muscles mus-cles become too tight they will cause more pressure on the trochanteric bursa, thus making mak-ing it more likely that bursa becomes be-comes irritated (bursitis). j The gluteal muscles and other-muscles near the hip bursa can become dysfunctional with injury and lack of use. Art Ball a smashing success The 39th Annual Art Ball at the Springville Museum of Art had a little twist this year. On Saturday evening, nearly 650 visitors entered into a literal garden of art; complete with nOyving fountains, greenery oh every side, hanging larlterns and beautiful art work from the 81st Annual Spring Salon. The Art Ball planning committee com-mittee created an atmosphere in .which guests were invited to take a more active part in the creative process. "An Evening for the Young at ART" began as attendees added their, individual piece to atanogram, creating a large mdsaic of interesting shapes. Hor's d'oeuvres, chocolate fountains, dancing to the Miner Min-er Music Company band, formed for-med crowing of the Art Museum Muse-um Royalty, live demonstra-tiphs demonstra-tiphs by artists, a saxophonist, and much more were spread throughout the beautiful building build-ing for all to enjoy. The goal of the planning committee was for people to enjoy the diversity and quality of art work of the Spring Salon, Sa-lon, and wonderful atmosphere atmos-phere of the Spanish Moroccan Moroc-can style building. Because pronation can lead to an increased likelihood of trochanteric bursitis, have your feet checked to make sure that you don't have too much pronation. (A chiropractor chiroprac-tor or a foot doctor can perform per-form this function.) It would also be beneficial to remove any restrictions that are found in the joint near the trochanteric bursa through an adjustment by a chiropractor, so that less stress is placed around the tender bursa. As was discussed in the previous pre-vious article, anti-inf lammato-ries lammato-ries can be used to help reduce the amount of inflamation that-is that-is experienced in the bursa. Although Al-though treating trochanteric bursitis through conservative measures is most often successful, suc-cessful, at times it is necessary to receive surgery. In surgery, tension is often relieved off of the pressure by cutting a portion or the tendon of the tight gluteal muscle. Spillner has been a teacher for 34 years and has spent the past 26 at Springville Middle School where she teaches Special Education students. She also serves as a mentor teacher, career ladder facilitator and chairperson of the Local Professional Improvement Committee. She expressed her philosophy phi-losophy of education by. saying, "I feel, as a teacher, it is very important impor-tant that I care about and enjoy working with children. chil-dren. Oscar Wilde Mike Hicks has been appointed by the Nebo Board of Education as the Principal of Brookside Elementary Ele-mentary for Nebo School District. Hicks started his career teaching junior high social studies for 10 years. He has worked for a total of 36 years in Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. Most recently. Hicks was the Coordinator of Special Education coming from Springville High where he was the principal.
