Wells Fargo teams with school district Wells Fargo announced a community-based program created to help financially support public schools during a time of economic challenges. challeng-es. Through the Team Up for Our Schools program, Wells Fargo will donate up to $30 to Utah school districts when new accounts are opened between July 14 and Sept. 13. When customers open new consumer checking accounts with direct deposit, including free checking, Wells Fargo will donate $10 to the school district where the Wells Fargo store is located. Wells Fargo will donate an additional $10 to the school district when a consumer Wells Fargo Package Pack-age is opened and another $10 when new and existing customers sign up and use Wells Fargo Bill Pay, a service to pay bills online. The annual Street Dance has become a popular part of . the festival, with dancers and musicians teaching the public simple folk dances. People of many cultures join together to dance joyfully to both folk songs and a few Top 40 hits as well. The free Street Dance will be held this year in the parking lot of the Springville Museum of Art, located at 200 E. 40 South in Springville, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Wed-nesday, July 16. All are welcome to attend. The Springville World Folkfest has , received the highest certification (Category (Catego-ry "A") from the UNESCO-affiliated UNESCO-affiliated International Organization Orga-nization of Folk Art. Additionally, Addi-tionally, the Folkfest is certified certi-fied by the National Folk Organization of the USA. "We want to share the excitement and fun of the festival with all," said Martin Conover, chairman of the festival's board of directors. "It's wonderfully infectious. Once you participate or even just attend, you want to get more involved." The festival is a nonprofit non-profit corporation governed by a board of trustees and an advisory committee. Don a bonnet, raise a musket or push a handcart as you participate par-ticipate in "Pioneer Legacy," a pageant produced and staged in Springville,. July 23, 24 and 25 in the Spring Acres park (behind the high school). Many local families have participated and they recommend recom-mend it. The Cluff family of Springville has been part of the pageant for years. Sheri Cluff, who is active behind the scenes, and is enthused about this year's production said, "I like the message of the pageant; I try to tell people about it. Everyone who's seen it has really liked it. And, I still cry at the end!" Barbara Morgan, and all eight members of her Spanish Fork family also appreciate being in the pageant. "My kids really enjoy being in it, even my boys that don't dance. Last year, I got my husband into it, too. It's a really, really good story. It's well worth coming to see because it's so well done. And, since there are only a couple of practices, it's a lot of fun in a short time. " Participants do not need to know how to dance and there are no lines to memorize. memo-rize. Chip sealing project The Springville City Public Works Department will be chip sealing several roads in the city beginning sometime this week. They appreciate the cooperation of citizens while this work is being done.
