Show KENNECOTT LISTS CHANGESAT MILLS Appointment of two men to positions po-sitions in the mills plant, Utah Copper Division of Kennecott Copper Corp., was announced by F. C. Green, general manager of Utiih Copper Division. Neil Plummer, former mills metallurgical me-tallurgical engineer, was named superintendent of the Arthur Milling Mill-ing Department, succeeding Wayne H. Burt. Mr. Burt was recently appointed ap-pointed superintendent of the Utah Refinery. J. W. Ribotto, former superin-, tendent of the mills service department depart-ment was named to succeed Mr. Plummer as mills metallurgical engineer. Both appointments are effective January I, 1959. Mr. Plummer was first employed by Utah Copper in 1937 as a flotation flo-tation operator. He later became flotation shift boss, experimental engineer, general mill foreman and in 1951 was named metallurgical engineer of the Arthur Mill. He became metallurgical engineer for both mills this year under a management man-agement reorganization. Mr. Plummer is a graduate of the Missouri School of Mines where he received a B. S. degree in metallurgical engineering. Hn subsequently attended a refresher course in physical metallurgy at the University of Utah in 1952. Ha is a member .if the American Institute In-stitute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, having served as chairman of that organization's organi-zation's Utah section, and in various var-ious capacities. He resides nt 5220 Holladay Blvd. Mr. Ribotto first joined Utah Copper in 1935 as a mill helper. ' He later became assistant experimental exper-imental engineer, grinding and flo- 1 tation foreman and general mill foreman of the Utah Arthur plant. He was named metallurgical engineer engi-neer of the Utah Magna plant in 1952 and became superintendent of the service department in September Sep-tember under the organizational change. Mr, Ribotto has a B.S. Degree in mine engineering from the Missouri Mis-souri School of Mines and Metallurgy Metal-lurgy and graduated from the Wisconsin Wis-consin Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Institute In-stitute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers. He resides at 2854 South 8650 West in Magna. |
