Show OSTEOPATHS, NURSES, CHIROPODISTS JOIN IN ENDORSING EN-DORSING BASIC SCIENCE BILL Three professional organizations working in the healing arts have added their endorsements to those previously received for the proposed pro-posed Basic Science Educational Requirements Law, officials of the Utah State Medical Assn. announced announc-ed today. New groups endorsing the protective pro-tective legislation are the Utah Osteopathis Assn. of Medicine and Surgery; Utah State Assn. of Chiropodists Chir-opodists and Utah State Nurses Association. According to executive secretary secre-tary Harold Bowman of the Utah State Medical Ason., groups endorsing en-dorsing the basic science bill at an earlier date included the Utah State Dental Assn. and L'tah Pharmaceutical Pharmaceu-tical Assn. Under the proposed legislation, persons wishing to practice medicine, medi-cine, surgery, osteopathic surgery, chiropractic and drugless medicine or naturopathy would take examinations exam-inations in five basic sciences. These would include anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pathology and hygiene. The basic science law would not be retroactive, and would not affect af-fect persons now practicing in the healing arts field under license. |
