Show TELEPHONE HOUR OPENS SECOND TV SEASON The Bell Telephone Hour will open its second season on television televis-ion with a star-studded musical program. It will be telecast here on Friday, October 9, at 8:00 p.m. over station KTVT, channel 4. Alfred Drake and Sally Ann Howes, popular stars of the musical stage, will make their TV debut as a duet on the program. Another debut will be that of the internationally interna-tionally famous violinist, Zino Francescatti. Red Nichols and his Five Pennies, with Connee Boswell, will play and sing a selection of jazz favorites. The Kingston Trio, featuring three young folk angers, will also appear. ap-pear. The Ballet Ruase de Monte Carlo will present a special version of "GaiteParisienne." Donald Voor-hees Voor-hees and the Bell Telephone Orchestra Orch-estra will provide tho accompaniments accompani-ments for the ballet and soloists. During the 1 959-60 TV season the Bell Telephone System will present pre-sent twelve Bell Telephone Hour programs. In addition they are planning three Science Series programs. |
