Larsen of Spanish Fork announced his candidacy today for the position of four year Utah County Commissioner on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Larsen is a prominent farmer and livestock man and has been active in church and community affairs for many years, and has held many leadership positions. He has been active in the LDS Church and his positions have included ward clerk, stake clerk, ward bishop and stake high councilor. Civically he is a past Jaycee having served as a local president, state vice president, and national director, and received the local Distinguished Service Award. He has also been involved with the Utah State Junior Livestock Show for 40 years, either as an exhibitor or a stock show official, and has served as show manager. For the past four years he has served as president of the stock show committee. Prior to that he served for eight years as state president of the Utah Livestock Shows Association. He is a member of the Utah County Farm Bureau, and a local officer. His past experience has also included countv committee member of the Farmers Home Administration; county committeeman com-mitteeman of the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Con-servation Service. He is also a member of the Spanish Fork Livestock Association; the Utah County Cattlemen's Cat-tlemen's Association; Utah State Cattlemen's Association, and the National Cattlemen's Association. At the present time he is serving as a member of the Utah County Planning Commission having been appointed to that position in January 1876. He states, "Serving as a member of this commission has given me a broader understanding of many of the problems that our county is facing with the rapid growth that is taking place. Glen R.
