Seal of the Mapleton Lions Quo states that completion com-pletion is near the final project he desires during his office as president. The first Mapleton School bell, which also has a history of being used as a fire alarm and other purposes is now being given a rightful place as a historic site. The Lions of Mapleton, under the chairmanship of Lion Keith Goble are erecting a site on the Mapleton City Park where the bell will hang in memory of its past and the pioneers of the community. The Mapleton Fruit Growers association donated $2,500 to assist in the building of the community needed pavilion with specific understanding that enough money of the donation would be reserved for the school bell project. President Seal desires special thanks for the Fruit Growers association donation should be extended to, Joseph Carnesecca Jr., Lewis and Johnny Bleggi and Zelma Thorpe Seal. An appropriate bronze will be placed in the rock formation explaining the history of the bell. Brett Neff First place winners of the 1978 Hobble Creek district Scout-O-Rama were Darren Johnson, Jeff McBride, Kenneth Carabello, David Christensen, and Jeff Yoakum. Not pictured was Mike Miskin. Scouf-o-Rama results given In spite of inclement weather the 1978 Hobble Creek Distric Socut-O-Rama was held last Saturday. More than 25 booths participated, following the theme 'SCOUTING "A MATTER OF PRIDE".. Activities started at 10 a. m. with a fun derby which involved the whole family in the pinewood derby contest. A rain gutter regatta and a rocket derby was also held. Troops 124 and 129 provided good food for the many people who supported the Scouts and their leaders. From 12 noon til 2 p.m . the pinewood derby for Cubs was held. Winners were: first, Griffin Law; second, Shawn Barker; third, Peter Gordon; fourth, Jared Butler. Before the time set for booth participation booths were being set up. At 2 p.m. the booth participation started. Everyone was well rewarded for making the effort to come and see them. This year there was a special booth for the winners of all the derbys. Their cars, boats and rockets were shown and pictures for each youth representatives were shown. The poster winners were also displayed. At the Awards Program Max Knight, Scout-O-Rama chairman, presided. Remarks were made by David Gledhill, high councilman over Scouting, and the program was turned over to Bob Strong, master , of ceremonies. The Ninth Ward No Sp. presented the flag ceremony. Opening prayer by Ronald Shepard. Talent numbers were: Danny Lloyd, David Lloyd each a piano solo, Joey Law a viola solo and Paul Lemon accordian solo. Awards were then presented. Raeola Holm presented the poster winners: First, Dee Samford; second, Michael Poulson; third, Clark Roundy; fourth, Andy Kirby. Gretha Andreasson presented trophies for the pinewood derby winners. Dorothy Damico and Mary Neff presented the Fun-O-Rama winners with plaques. Mrsr Damico then introduced the youth representative nominees from all stakes. Brett Neff, son of William and Mary Neff won for the district. Karen Zobell made the booth award. The individual booths had drawings and Adam Tolson drew his winner for a bike flag. Keith York was the winner. Stanley Woodward gqve away a neckerchief and slide. The boys had to state why they were proud to be scouts. Peterson Nez won.
