Show Jill Junior high proficiency Nebo Board of Education Policy . requires each ninth grade student te pass a minimum requirements exam in the area of math, English, music and art. These tests must be passed before entering high school next year. Each exam will be given on three different dates with a make-up for those who might miss a date because of illness. All teachers in these subject areas will assist students before taking the exam. Also workbooks and subject matter helps are available in the library and classroom. Students who fail to pass the exams on the dates given will be tutored individually. The exam dates are as follows. Feb. 8, Music. Feb. 15, Math. Feb. 22, Music. March 7, Math. March 31, English. Junior high lists citizens of month DECEMBER Eighth grade citizens for the month of December were Brian Bate and Jill Perkins. Brian is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bate of Springville. He likes to ski, camp, and travel. Brian says that his favorite subjects in school are English, chorus, art, and shop. Brian enjoys being with his friends and he also enjoys going to church. Jill says her hobbies are gymnastics, baseball, and basketball. Jill's favorite food is pizza and she says that she would like to learn to ski. December's ninth grade citizens are Camille Callister and Spencer Hansen. Camille's hobbies include playing the guitar, playing piano, reading, baseball, writing, soccer, and singing. Camille also enjoys eating pizza and tacos. Spencer has a unique hobby electronics. elec-tronics. He is able to put his hobby to good use since he is an electrician for the weather station. He likes to play basketball, basket-ball, football, and he likes to water ski. Spencer says he also likes all of his classes at school. JANUARY Bess Tiernan and Chad Jenkins are our January citizens of the month. Bess is from Springville and she likes volleyball, Softball, and basketball. She also likes to shop and babysit and she wants to learn to ski. Chad hails from Mapleton and he enjoys working with leather and scouting. He enjoys skating, swimming, swim-ming, soccer and baseball. Chad says that his favorite place is Chicago. Ninth grade citizens are Melinda Brailsford and Garth Allred. Melinda is a native Utahn. She loves animals, especially dogs and horses. Melinda's favorite colors are blue and purple and her favorite sports are skiing and tennis. Garth was born in Vernal and recently moved to Springville from Provo. He enjoys basketball and tennis and he plays in the Springville High School Stage Band. Junior high releases honor roll According to a report released this week, 95 Springville Junior High School ninth graders, from a total of 315 students, have been named to the high honor roll, or achieved a grade point average of 3.500 or better. A total of 51 from an enrollment of 270 eighth grade students also achieved the honor, the report shows. Scout uniform day Wednesday Scout uniform day is scheduled for next Wednesday, February 8 and everyone connected in any way with the Scouting program is urged to wear the Scout uniform all day. Specialized medical services for children at Primary Children's are: Birth Defects Clinic, Brace Shop, Cancer Treatment Center, Echocardiography, EEG and EKG testing, Heart High School will have a special flag ceremony recognizing all those wearing their uniform that day.
