Yillie Wise now signed by Stars Wondrous Willie Wise is under contract to the Utah Stars for the upcoming 1972-73 season, it was announced Saturday by Vince Boryla, club president. No terms of the agreement were disclosed, but with Zelmo Beaty already signed under a multi-year contract, this means the Stars have their two superstars ready for action well in advance of the mid-September mid-September pre-season training camp opening. Wise, a 6-6, 215-pound forward with great moves and a burning desire to excel in all phases of the game, had a fantastic campaign in 1971-72, his third pro season. Willie barely trailed Big Z in regular season scoring, 23.2 points per game as compared to 23.3 to lead the team. During the Stars' successful drive to the ABA western division title Willie put together 31 consecutive games in which he scored 20 or more points. His high game came on Feb. 23 when he tallied 50 points against the Kentucky Colonels. Wise is a strong rebounder as evidenced by his 10.7 average last season and he shoots extremely ex-tremely well - .507 from the field during the regular season and .566 during playoff action. Open letter Writer gives views about football sponsor We feel that Bona Sign Company, one of the Bantan Football team sponsors, is not fulfilling his duty. Through much work and extensive effort, many girls try out for cheerleading positions. They then are picked to cheer for a certain team. These girls were asked to represent Bona Sign Co. And if Bona Sign expects the cheerleaders to be as enthused as the team, and as good, he must contribute his part and help pay for the girls uniforms to have his name and company well represented. 1 It is not pleasure that makes life worth living.
