Dr. William McKay Jr. sank an ace. He accomplished the feat on the par three No. 5 hole, over a distance of 110 years. His 'surgical tool' in this instance, was a pitching wedge. Witnesses 1hz Old 1m&t The Kolob 12th Ward fastpitch softball team successfully defended their league title of a year ago by once again capturing cap-turing the Kolob Stake championship cham-pionship this year. The four top teams are presently involved in the Springville City Tournament which is a double elimination affair. The zone tourney is scheduled for Aug. 7-11 with further details to be released at a later date. The Final Standings: Won. ORDINANCE NUMBER 4-73 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A PORTION OF THE R-3 RESIDENTIAL ZONE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SPRINGVILLE CITY TO 0-1 OVERLAY ZONE WHICH PERMITS COMMERCIAL USES, AND CHANGING THE OFFICIAL ZONE MAP OF THE CITY OF SPRINGVILLE ACCORDINGLY. AC-CORDINGLY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SPRINGVILLE, UTAH: SECTION I. AMENDMENT TO ZONING MAP. The Official Zone Map of Springville City adopted on the 29th day of December, 1967, is hereby amended as follows: The following area whfch is presently zoned partly R-3 Residential Zone and partly 0-1 Overlay Zone is hereby rezoned 0-1 Overlay Zone; and hereafter all rules and regulations applicable ap-plicable to the 0-1 Overlay Zone shall apply within said area. Said area is described as follows, to-wit: The block bounded by Main Street on the west, 700 South Street on the North, 100 East Street on the east, and 800 South Street on the South. SECTION II. DECLARATION OF PROCEDURE FOLLOWED IN AMENDING ORDINANCE. The Springville City Council hereby finds and declares that the foregoing amendment was submitted to the Springville City Planning Commission; that said Planning Commission considered con-sidered said zoning change and amendment and by letter submitted sub-mitted its recommendation that the area aforesaid be zoned 0-1 Overlay Zone to the City Council; that the City Council subsequently held a public hearing on Monday, July 9, 1973, at 5:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Springville Civic Center, SO South Main Street, Springville, Utah, relating to the zoning change made by Section I of this ordinance; that notice of the time and place of said hearing was published in the Springville Herald, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, on June 21, 28, and July 5. 1973, the first publication being more than fifteen (15) days before the date of said hearing; and that at said public hearing all parties interested in-terested and citizens in attendance at-tendance were given an opportunity op-portunity to be heard. ' SECTION III. CONFLICTING PROVISIONS REPEALED. ... All ordinances, or resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict with the provisions set forth in this Ordinance. SECTION IV. EFFECTIVE DATE. Because of impending development within Springville City an emergency exists. In order to preserve the health, safety, convenience, peace, and general welfare of the City of Springville, and the inhabitants thereof, this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and first publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the City.
