Show .'OBITUARIES I Services Friday for Mrs. Packard Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Fillmore for Mary Ballantyne Packard, wife of Paul Packard, former residents. Mrs. Packard died Nov. 30, 1971 at the Utah Valley Hospital. Burial will be in the Springville City Cemetery. Mrs. Packard was born May 27, 1902 in Logan, the daughter of Richard A. and Mary Ann Stewart. She was the granddaughter grand-daughter of Richard Ballantyne, founder of the LDS Sunday School. She was one of 13 children. She married Paul Packard May 16, 1936 in Sandy, Utah. She was a business major graduate of the Utah State University and had been a prominent Federated Women's Club member in the state. She and her husband have been running the Fillmore Motel as owners there. Survivors include a daughter, Ann P. Hayes of Chesapeake, Va., two grandsons, and three sisters. Local residents' father succumbs Franklin Earl Hansen, 70, father of Don Franklin and DeLynn Hansen of this city, was paid final respects at funeral services Friday in Provo. He died Nov. 23, 1971 following a short illness. Estimates 489-6950 Services today for Mrs. Kaze Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 in the Berg Mortuary in Provo for Ellen Arthella Halladay Kaze, 71, who died Nov. 29, 1971 in the Smith Clinic in Provo of a heart attack. She was the mother of Mrs. C. O. (Norma) Ward of this city. She was born Aug. 8, 1900 in Provo, a daughter of Thomas A. and Margaret Wright Halladay. She married Elmer Kaze on Sept. 23, 1923 in Provo and he died April 5, 1961. She is survived by one son and one daughter; six grandchildren; grand-children; two greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. Rites held for accident victim Funeral services were held Wednesday in Clearfield for Max Brimhall, Davis County Sheriff's Deputy, who was killed Saturday November 27, 1971 when his car hit a piece of equipment at a road construction site on his way home from work that morning about 8:20 a.m. The victim was the son-in-law of former resident Jack Cherrington and the late Virginia Cherrington, and his wife is the granddaughter of Mrs. A. W. Cherrington of this city. Survivors include his wife Coleene and a baby boy. Ignace Jan Paderewski, pianist-comporer, became premier of Poland in 1919. Elizabeth Rowley Hansen in American Fork. He married Elva Carter on Aug. 29, 1923, in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by his widow of Provo; five sons and three daughters, 29 grandchildren; three brothers. His father died Saturday preceding his death. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Bigler Brother of local resident dies Funeral services were held Tuesday in Delta for Glen C. Stewart, 78, Delta, who died Nov. 27, 1971 at his home of a heart aitment. He was the brother of Stanley Stewart of this city. He was born Dec. 13, 1892 in Payson to Courtland E. and Lybia Rosina Knight Stewart. He married Herma Nielson on Dec. 1, 1920 in Salt Lake Temple. She died a few years ago. Survivors include a son and three daughters; three grandchildren, grand-children, one great-grandchild; three brothers and three sisters. Bigler, regional director of public relations for U.S. Steel, as volunteer chairman of the 1972 "Take Stock in America" Savings Bonds campaign in Utah was announced Saturday by Wendell Gile, state chairman, Savings Bonds, Division, U. S. Treasury Department. In this position, Mr. Gigler will succeed Clark L. Wilson, manager, Utah Operations, Anaconda Co., who directed a highly successful campaign this year, Mr. Gile, senior vice president, Continental Bank & Trust Co., said. The new chairman in 1972 will head up a campaign by Savings Bonds volunteers throughout Utah to enlist citizens for the first time in Payroll Savings or Bond-A-Month plans or increase their participation under these programs. "Next year's campaign will stress that the purchase of U. S. Savings Bonds represents a compelling opportunity for every citizen to take a personal stake in the future of his country and insure, at the same time, his own independence, "Mr. Bigler said. Mr. Bigler is a native Utahn, born at Provo, and a graduate of the University of Utah, where he earned a B. A. degree in 1950. He joined U. S. Steel that same year, holding various positions in industrial and public relations in Utah, Ohio and Michigan, prior to appointment in 1962 as director of public relations in the Mountain States for the steel firm. Active in community affairs, he directed in 1964 the first campaign by United Fund of Utah County and served as general chairman of the first Equal Opportunity Conference ever held at Salt Lake City in 1967. At present, he is a Utah director, Federation of Rocky Mountain States; member, Institutional Council, Southern Utah State College; president, Utah Westerners; and vice president, Urban League Committee of Utah He is also a member, Utah Manufacturers Association, Utah Mining Association, Public Relations Society of America, and the chambers of commerce, Salt Lake City, Provo and Ogden.'
