J Funeral services held Tuesday for Mrs. Clark Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Third-Ninth Ward for Emma Binks Rowland Clark, 79, who died May 27, 1971 in the Payson City Hospital. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. She was born April 21, 1892 in Springville, a daughter of Thomas and Ann Bramall Binks. She was married to Bert L. Rowland on March 25, 1913 in Springville and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Rowland died in 1948. She was married to John Raymond Clark on Aug.l4, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Clark was active in the Relief Socity, serving as a visiting teacher for 45 years. She was a member of S. T. Club and the Wheelbarrow Club of Springville. Surviving are her husband of Springville; a son and daughter, Max Rowland and Mrs. Ray (Fern) Oakeson, both of Springville; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and the following step-children, Mrs. R.. E. (Viola) Walters, Gerald Clark, and John Clark, all of Provo; Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Johnson of Kearns; Mrs. James (Maurine) Muncy of Price; Paul Clark of Roy; and Mrs. Gary (JoAnn) George of Sparks, Nevada. Mrs. Snow was born Nov. 2, 1879 in Springville, a daughter of Mr and Mrs. John Melvin Dalton. She married Levi Snow who preceded her in death. Survivors include one brother and five sisters, Mrs. Elnora P. Shupe, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Adelaide D. House, Mrs. F. C. (Roberta) Brundage, Mrs. T. M. (Audrey) Sorensen, all of California; Mrs. Munn Q. (Lois) Cannon and .M. E. Dalton, both of Salt Lake City. Resident's kin dies in Provo Funeral services for LaVerne Smith Thompson, 77, Provo, who died May 24, 1971 at a Provo rest home, were held Tuesday in Provo. She was the stepmother of Mrs. Don (Sophie) McCurdy of Springville. She was born August 3, 1893 in Elsinore, a daughter of William and Christina Maria Peterson Smith. She married Frederick Thompson on June 2, 1913 in Richfield. She is survived by her husband, Provo, three sons, two stepdaughters, 10 grand-children; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister.
