Ballif at their home Friday evening, , in -honor of Mrs. Esther Kralick of Palo Alto, Calif., formerly of Prague, Czechoslovakia. Czech-oslovakia. Mrs. Kralick is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Arthur Gaeth, now of Salt Lake City, and, with her daughter Nancy, is en route to St. Louis, Mo. As soon as transportation transporta-tion is available- and clearances obtained, they will return to their home is Prague, to rejoin Mr. Kralick,-who is with UNRAR. At the time of the German invasion. in-vasion. Mrs. Kralick and Nancy fled from Czechoslovakia, and came to the United States, where they have since remained. After assembling and visiting in the lovely gardens, the guests retired re-tired to the house, where they enjoyed en-joyed an intensely interesting talk given by Mrs. Kralick. who cad a special assignment in the press service at the peace conference confer-ence in San Francisco.. She spoke on "Personalities of the San Francisco Fran-cisco conference," and directed Iter remarks to the contribution made by. women of the United Nations towards the making of peace. She cited the women 'of South America as being among the most outstanding, in brilliance, charm and chic appearance. Also, she paid high compliment to Ellen Wilkinson of England, and Virginia Vir-ginia Gildersleeve of the United States. ; Later, a buffet lunch was served in the garden, where the table was beautifully appointed. The beloved, end I well known- provo -matron 'was born in this city, Aug. 14, 1865, her parents, pioneers of this commanlty! being Nathaniel Nath-aniel and Eliza Helen Wall Williams. Her father crossed the plains when only a lad of 13; arriving in Salt Lake City, in 1847, . and her mother was only seven when she made the hazardous trip, her family reaching Salt Lake in 150. Isabella 'Williams married James Gilbert 'Haws'Deci 23, 1885, in the Login templet He died Jan. 3, 1929. Seven of Mrs. Haws' nine children are living, as follows: Lynn, Bruce, Murjce, James Noel, Merrill fand Lucille Haws, all of Provo, and Mrs. Erma H. Coleman of Ventura, Calif. She is proud of her 19 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, five grandsons serving Uncle Sam. Old Folks7 Party Is Scheduled SPRINGVILLE Elderly people peo-ple including those 70 years and older together with their partners part-ners from Springville and Maple-ton, Maple-ton, have been invited to join in an old folks' entertainment Tuesday. The group will be given dinner at the Mapleton amusement hall at noon, and during the meal, a short program will be featured. After dinner, they will be guests of Mayor Emil Ostlund at a moving picture show. H. T. Reynolds is general chairman chair-man in charge of arrangements for the day. Transportation will be furnished by ward committee members. Navy Son Is Given Party Honoring their son, Coxswain Merrill Blair, who was on leave from the navy, Mr. and Mrs. James Blair entertained family members at a swimming party Tuesday.
