Show i Honored At Bridal Party The Shirley Bee -home was the - scene of a delightful brMal show-er show-er Friday evening when MLsa June Bee was honored . by her mother ' and an aunt, Mrs. Parley L. Lar-: Lar-: sen. A tasty tray luncheon was served, after which Mrs. Lorin Bryner entertained the guests with , two readings. Mrs. J. Frank Ward conducted a game, the favor go.vg to Mrs. Ed M. Rowe. Also, recipes were written for the bride-elect, and she was showered with a large variety of lovely and useful gifts. A large white bowl on the mantel man-tel held beautiful orchid chrysanthemums, chry-santhemums, and white tapers burned from white holders. 3$ "Y" Business Frat Holds Initiation Initiation ceremonies, followed by a formal banquet, were held at the Edna Mae Hedquist home Thursday evening by the Phi Chi Theta, business fraternity at the B. Y. U. Five girls were initiated, as follows: fol-lows: Barbara Bennion, Carol Drlggs, Sara Mabey, Mildred Pier-pont Pier-pont and Affra McNeill. Miss Elida Jensen of Salt Lake City, national inspector, presided, and the girls taking part in the ceremonies were: Melba Clark, LaPrele Memmott, Lavinia Ludlow, Lud-low, Fay Bean, Gladys Meeks, Thais Miner. Lillian Pritchett, Marie Robinson, Lucile Spencer, Louise West, and the sponsor, Miss Beene A. Waspe. The theme of the banquet was a "board of directors' meeting," and the favors consisted of score pads, erasers, pencils, etc. The initiates received pins. Miss Louise West was toastmistress, and the following gave toasts: Lucile Spencer, Melba Clark, Barbara Bennion, Elida Jensen and Miss Waspe. Two piano solos were played by Sara Mabey. Legion Arranges Gala Family Christmas Party The date of the big annual Christmas party of the American Legion and auxiliary members and their families, has been changed from Dec. 16. to Thursday. Dec. 15, at 7:30 o'clock at the Armory. Recreational leaders will be on hand to assist wl'th the lively entertainment, as follows; LeRoy Johnson. Byron Jensen,- Mrs. Phillis R. Brown and Mrs. Ireta B. Mason. Santa Claus will make his an nual visit and present candy and nuts to all the children. Also, each person ia to take a 10-cent gift to exchange, t A number of special features have been planned for which prizes will be awarded, and an orchestra has been engaged en-gaged in order that the young folks may enjoy dancing upstairs. The committee has done everything every-thing in its power to make the affair one long to be remembered remem-bered by those who attend, and they are looking forward to welcoming wel-coming a big crowd. Biirtugs was the scene of a surprise sur-prise party in honor of her sister, Mrs. ZAla. Curtis Jacobs, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. The rooms were cleverly decorated dec-orated with Yuletide colors and motifs, and a huge birthday cake was the center of attraction. During- the evening, games were played and music was furnished by Harold Kendall, Mrs. Cleo Harward, and J. W. Jacobs. A delicious luncheon was served to: Mr. Jacobs and daughter Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Billings, Mrs. Lula C. County Infirmary Patients to Be Honored at Party The county board of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Utah Pioneers are planning a Christmas party for patients at the county infirmary December 17 a 2 p- m. A special holiday season program pro-gram will be given and gifts presented pre-sented at the annual affair. All camp members are invited to attend. at-tend. Special invitations have been sent to the city commission. B. Y. U. Women At Regular Meet An unusual fine session of the B. Y. U. Faculty Women's organization organi-zation was held Saturday afternoon after-noon in the faculty room, at the university. Mrs. William J. Snow introduced intro-duced the program of the afternoon, after-noon, which was on "Central America," and splendid papers were given as follows: "Geography "Geog-raphy and Importance to the United States," Mrs. Russell B. Swenson; "The Cities of Central America," Miss Ann Ollerton; "Trade Relations," Mrs. W. F. Hanson; "Social Cultures," Mrs. John E. Hayes; "The Romantic Incidents and Hi&tory of Central America," Miss Billie Hollings-head. Hollings-head. Prof. William F. Hanson ar ranged the delightful music, which consisted of two Spanish solos by Fae Bybee, with Prof. Hanson at the piano. Also, Miss Kutn Diane Miller favored with a Spanish Span-ish dance. Hostesses for the afternoon were: Mrs. Sidney B. Sperry, Mrs. Stella Rich, Mrs. Morris Snell, Miss Margaret Burton, Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford D. Lee and Mrs. David Crowton. Delicious refreshments were served. Christmas Dinner For U. C. T. Group Among the attractive parties of the late week, was the Christmas turkey dinner given by the U. C. T. auxiliary for the husbands, Friday Fri-day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Thurraan. Santa Claus favors mu. ked the places, at the long table, which was a pretty sight with a miniature minia-ture Santa Claus and reindeer setting among the "trees" and "snow." Red tapers burned brightly bright-ly and sprigs of holly added a pleasing effect. Poinsettas and holly were arranged throughout the rooms, and there was a huge lighted tree. Gifts were exchanged. ex-changed. After dinner, 500 was played, Douglas Page and Mrs. C. A. Mc-Causland Mc-Causland winning the prizes. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Mitchell of Ogden, will be announced at a luncheon to be tendered by Mrs. Berg this afternoon at the Hotel Roberts. (nvitations have been extended to 30 close friends and family members. - The wedding, is to be held Sunday, December 18, at the Berg home. The attractive bride-to-bo was a student at Rhodes Preparatory school and Barnard college in New York City, before attending the B. Y. U., where tfhe was affiliated with the Nautilus social unit. Mr. Mitchell, a graduate of the U. S. A. C, and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, is now employed by the U. S. forest service. BRIDE OF NEW YEAR The betrothal of Miss Irma Souter and Paul Hunt, son of Air. and Mrs. J. N. Hunt of Buhl, Idaho, is made known today by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Souter, parents of the well known bride-elect. January 2 has been set as the date of marriage, the nuptials to be held in the Salt Iake temple. Mr. Hunt has fulfilled a mission in the central states, and while attending the B. Y. U., was affiliated with the Delta Phi missionary fraternity. A trousseau tea is being tentered by the bride's mother this afternoon at the family home. Afternoon Of Bridge Enjoyed Entertaining for the De Novo club, Mrs. L. J. Brandon and Mrs. Leon Wilkins gave a delightful card party at the home of Mrs. Alvin Coibett Friday afternoon. The luncheon table was pretty with a silver tree centerpiece, and white tapers in green holders. Bridge followed, Mrs. Brandon receiving the high score prize and Mrs. Thomas E. Beesley, the sec ond prize. Mrs. Ross Jensen was a jrucst, and the members present were: Mrs. George H. Carter, Mrs. Harvey Har-vey Higgins, Mrs. Fred Newell, Mrs. Thomas E.
