Show ,Q)!jlS Vernal Express Wednesday, April 23, 2008 C1 Wasps crushed by Uintah's bats V By Casey Christbiseh Express Writer The Uintah Ute softball team defeated the Wastach Wasps 10-3 sending the region into a confused tailspin. Who is the dominating team? The answer is not easily found, but Uintah's 10 points on the Wasps makes a very strong case for them. The game started with Uintah taking a 2-0 lead in the third, the Wasps answered back tying the score in the fourth. Wastach continued on taking the lead by one in the top of the fifth. They weren't able to hold it long as Uintah came back and tied it during their half of the inning. The Wasps were kept scoreless in the sixth and then Uintah came alive, scoring seven runs during their rally. Neither team scored in the seventh. The winning pitcher was Taylor Craven, she also hit a homerun in the game. Madeline Schulz hit a triple for the only other multiple base hit. The Utes scored their runs on 10 hits, they were able to hold the Wasps to just four hits. The Utes next game will be against Judge Memorial on April 25. : - v- -i . - v -v-v. :v "ft-:.-- -v;.,v i -if - ? .
