A total of 98 red ribbons were given, 204 blue ribbons, 14 second best of show, and 18 best of show. Best of show award winners include: Jason Calder, Roy Cook, Carolene Gardiner, Doris Griffin, Hillary Jenne, Shawn Dell Mayes, Delores Merkley, Yvonne Mullins, Dwain Nelson, Angle North, Denise Ohler, Aleshia Perry, Jace Ruppe, Christine Smith, Linda Stover, Dawna Wardell, and Ed Zurbuchen. There were nearly 100 exhibitors exhibi-tors who entered projects in the fair. Lisa Asay, Jill Harrison, Yamilth Hernandez, Cecil Massey, Mary McPherson, Irene Mumford, Mike Murray, Jace Ruppe, Dawna Wardell, and Emarie Winters were winners win-ners of People's Choice Awards. 1 7 Two BFFs check out the art work at the county fair. Animal varieties fare well at County Fair Toni Evans brought her buck llama and other animals for fair goers. X' Claret Gamecock Rooster crowed for Alexy Hatch. The Uintah County Fair does not have the vast exhibit of livestock live-stock that show at many county fairs, because the huge Junior Livestock Show is held each June, drawing entrants from all over the state. There was a showing of a variety of animals in the arena, however. Eleven birds were entered for judging, nine of which were 4-H entries; the duck and one rooster were Evans youngsters' entries. Five rabbits were 4-H contestants. The 7Barll Brand, Durell Farsnworth and Barefoot J Ranch, Elisabeth Jones exhibited exhibit-ed their Longhorns for visitors to enjoy. Toni and Connon Evans, Wild Poplar Ranch, shared a variety of animals including kids and goats, ewes and lambs, pigs, llamas, lla-mas, cow and calf; and geese. Wilma, the water buffalo and the four-horned Navajo Churro sheep belong to Alan Hutcheon. The baby llama was looking for a name. Many ideas were submitted; the name chosen was Gizmo. Sprocket was chosen cho-sen for the name of the young llama that didn't get to come. Toni Evans said, "We will keep all of the names for our many kinds of baby animals. Thanks, everyone who dropped a name in the jar!" Saturday, the jackpots for sheep and milk goats provided great experience and fun for the kids and the audience.
